FOLLOWING last week’s fire incident that razed Sokoto Central Market, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has donated N50 million to the Sokoto State government and victims of the fire incident with a resolve to lobby the Federal Government to fulfil its pledge of assisting in the rebuilding of the market.

Chairman of the Forum and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi announced the donation on Tuesday in Sokoto when the forum visited the market.

The governor was in company of the Chairman Northern States Governors’ Forum, Simon Bako Lalong and Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State.

Fayemi said the NGF will pursue the pledge made by the Federal Government to the state government and victims of the blaze.

All Northern Governors gave N50 million.

Governor Nyesom Spending Wike gave N500 Million.

Slawormiir, Does this make Wike a real Nigga?

Edit- The NGF in this case is "Nigerian Governors Forum" . This is even worse because this group has more (36) members.

Wike and Tambuwal should explain this brotherly love they have.

Markets in the North are so different, compared to New Benin & Ring Road Markets..

Maybe Gov. Wike can donate something?

Several markets have burned in Lagos this year and no state government or governor's forum donated anything to rebuild the markets.

Now, a market burns in Sokoto, and everyone is suddenly donating money left, right, and center.

Even Wike joined the fad and there are calls for the Federal Government to rebuild the market.

What is up with Sokoto? Is there something we do not know?

This is amazing. I thought these people keep complaining that's there's no money? Where are they getting d money they are donating for a burnt market? Is sokoto state so poor that it can't rebuild a market by itself? Last I checked, markets fall under d duties of local govts. This market has now become a national problem

Nigerians are beggers, we beg for everything, even our prayers are begi begi prayers, father I need this, father I need that. even our rich men still beg.

let me come to the meat of the matter, if you want anything from a Nigerian, walk up to the person and beg, that is how to hack a Nigerian. if you are afraid to toast a girl, walk up to her and beg her for her friendship. forget about polished grammar, the same style you used in begging your friends use it to beg strangers.

we are Nigerians, we are proud and loud, we want to make billions to impress the world, it gives some an erection hearing their enemies beg, it means they accept defeat and accept the listener to be greater than them.

begging is an art, beg with your sense, know when to make sacrifices to enable somebody compromise, we are all beggers, but it depends on what you beg.
