Benue Farmers 2021 Farming Season Let's Meet Up by willybaby(m): 12:09pm On Jan 30, 2021
Hello everyone
Hope we all fine and well, have been a guest of nairaland for many years, a member for years too and I can say it's changed my life a whole lot, and in that regards it's my duty to give back..
I ventured into agriculture 2 years back after school and I can say it's been fun, have had gains and loses aplenty and it's obvious information played a major role with the gains while inexperience brought about most of the losses.
This thread was opened for farmers, with a little bit of extra privileges to farmers in Benue State, Nigeria so we can share information, market among ourselves, strategies etc.

I hope this thread put smiles on faces when it's harvest time

Lack of rain last year wanted to put me to shame oo, but God no gree. Cultivated 210 ula that's about 84,000 heaps late last year, thinking Rain will fall till October ending. But hopefully it's still going great Sha. Profit fit still dey am. My farm is Located in Akpa in otukpo. This year thinking of using machines, at least let's see if we can cultivate up to 200 hectares. One good thing is that, the market for cassava are always available, because people can come to your farm and ask for it. I really suffer for cassava last year Sha.

And also this is my first time farming cassava this large. What's even the cost of fertilizer in Otukpo self? Although benue land is really fetile but someone needs to increase the yields. Because the more yields the more profit.

Selling or processing into garri all depends on you and certain other factors such as financial, man power etc
