Crime is prevalent throughout Nigeria, but these are the top 5 crime in our country.

1.Kidnapping

Kidnapping for ransom is one of the biggest organised or gang crime in Nigeria and is seen as a national security challenge. ... In the northwest states of Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna hundreds of local community members mostly young women and children are often abducted by bandits operating from forests. The crime is also spreading to southern part of the country.


2.Cyber Crime. (Yahoo Yahoo/ Internet scam)

Cybercrime in Nigeria is largely perpetrated by young people and students in tertiary institutions, and are socially tagged yahoo yahoo or yahoo boys. Internet scams are attempts by con artists to convince you to send them money. In Nigeria, these scams are also referred to as 419 scams. They also hack bank accounts and credit cards  through phishing  or emails to steal people's money.

3.Oil bunkering

Every day, oil companies in Nigeria lose between 300,000 and 400,000 barrels of oil to illegal theft. Theft accounts for roughly 15 percent of Nigeria's 2.4 million barrels per day produced. Oil theft, or “bunkering,” occurs throughout the Niger Delta, where pipelines crisscross the region


4.Drug trafficking

Nigerian dominance of the illicit drug trafficking trade had been felt across much of the region. Nigerians are the biggest traffickers of drugs in west Africa wherby they to the cultivation, manufacture, distribution across the globe and the local black market.

5. Armed robbery

It's a social menace that persistently continues to retard the development of the. Nigerian society. It involves stealing, during which force and violence.
