What is pathetic is how Yoruba and Igbo take pleasure at one another's demise in the hands of Fulani.

When war breaks out let each of you defend your territories.

The bottom line is, neither of you is comfortable with the other in your land. The main reason for the glee when Fulani invade.

Las las, retire home and let us renegotiate terms of hosting and staying in the East, West, North and those in between.

International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) has alleged that no fewer than 350 communities in Igboland have been forcefully invaded and permanently occupied by jihadist Fulani herdsmen.

This claim was contained in a statement endorsed by the group’s Board Chair, Emeka Umeagbalasi, a criminologist, and the Head, International Justice and Human Rights, Ndidiamaka Bernard, a lawyer, and three others.

The statement reads:

‘There are no less than 350 Igbo communities, villages and other locations now invaded and permanently Eeyah grin
occupied by the Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and ‘imported’ Shuwa Arabs also called ‘Cowmen’ in Arabic.

‘The number of Igbo communities forcibly occupied by the Jihadists has recorded an exponential increase from about 139 in August 2019 to alarming 350 in May 2020. The jihadist occupation is vicariously, if not directly aided by the Government of Nigeria and its security agencies especially the Army and the Police.

‘By the combined accounts of the Association of the Eastern Town Unions, the Alaigbo Dev Foundation and the Eastern Outlook Newspaper, “as at August 2019, 139 Igbo communities, villages and locations have been occupied by Fulani Herdsmen, out of which Enugu State has the highest number with 56, followed by Anambra with 24, Imo 17, Ebonyi 12 and Abia seven. In Igbo areas of Delta and Rivers, there are 15 in Delta and nine in Rivers....

ABUJA—The Presidency, yesterday, charged those against the administration’s ranching and colony programmes for herdsmen to rethink, noting that they are better off living with the ranches and colonies than dying through the persisting conflicts.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, speaking on an AIT morning programme in response to a question on ancestral attachments to land said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive.

If you are talking about ancestral attachment, if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? The exhortation from the Presidency came on a day Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said that history would be harsh on the present administration if it failed to stop the mass killing of innocent Nigerians.

This is even as the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in the 17 Southern states yesterday said the insecurity pervading the country, particularly in the North Central zone, poses grave danger to the conduct of next year’s general elections.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina, gave the admonishment as he alleged a conspiracy by alleged critics of the administration to frustrate moves towards resolving the crises in the country. Adesina, who spoke on AIT morning programme, said it was wrong to describe the attacks against farmers as one directed against Christians.

He said: “Hundreds have been killed in Zamfara, are they Christians? People have been killed in Birnin Gwari, are they Christians? “What is happening is criminality, pure and simple, and it must be brought to an end. Government has a big role to play in this but the people themselves have a role to play.” Noting what he described as a campaign to stop the implementation of the administration’s plans to check the farmers-herders conflict, Adesina said: “Some people are saying don’t use government money to build ranches. If truly they don’t have lands, that is fine, but remember that Kogi State offered 15,000 hectares of land for cattle colony and in the midst of that offer vicious attacks were unleashed.

“In Plateau State, where we had the recent orgy of killings, the government has offered land for ranches and I tell you that some people are interested in this thing not being resolved.” Better alive than a dead land owner".

Adesina Asked about the ancestral attachment by the people of those states to their lands, he said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive. If you are talking about ancestral attachment, if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? “The National Economic Council that recommended ranching didn’t just legislate it, there were recommendations. “So, if your state genuinely does not have land for ranching, it is understandable; not every state will have land for ranches. But where you have land and you can do something, please do for peace. What will the land be used for if those who own it are dead at the end of the day?”

Adesina further said the administration is doing its best to ensure peace throughout the country. “There are different theatres of crises in the country and you may look at each theatre with its peculiarities. In the Middle Belt, it has its own peculiarities and what is the peculiarity of that, Farmers-Herders conflict. What has the government done? “It has sent in security agencies starting with the police, later troops, later different operations by the military,” he said.

Just imagine Igbos or Yorubas threatening aboki people somewhere in Kano or Yobe State. Just imagine it. In fact, just imagine that Evans, Godogodo, or any Igbo or Yoruba kidnapping ring is operating unchallenged somewhere in Kano or Katsina... Kidnapping, killing and raping random abokkis day by day. Imagine these scenarios.

If you can't imagine it, then that is all the evidence that you need to see that something is not balanced..that something is horribly wrong somewhere and needs to be corrected. This isn't the time to talk about the constitution and right to live anywhere bla bla. Certain things just don't make sense. You have to be prepared to die correcting these kinds of things rather than living to accept them.

We do not want to truncate an existing framework, scheduled for permanent dissociation and exit from Nigeria. A bloodbath could break and erase all the gains so far made at international institutions and their commitment to see the goal to its fruition.

You can feel and see it in Yoruba leadership and their silence so far on Nigerian politics.

A week before Igangan our leaders were still demanding publicly for restructure. Not a single one has come out to talk of restructure since. The case in Ogun when Army and Police tortured and enforced fulani will on the refusal of Yoruba farmers to allow settlement and grazing was serious and did not go unnoticed.

Some pro-Tinubu campaigners had arranged a rally in Ibadan, it was organized to bring him out and secure endorsement before his coming out. Among invited guests were top class politicians and lawyers and traditional rulers. Many refused to attend. I don't think a single traditional ruler attended the event.

Alaafin was clear in his letter, there are only two options left, a secured Nigeria or a secured Oduduwa Nation. There is no middle option.

All first class Obas in Yorubaland, Eleko of all people also joined in, with public support for Igboho to carry on and fear no harm.

What this means is Yoruba has consciously disengaged from Nigeria. Its politics is not a priority, securing Oduduwa has become a conscious priority at all levels of heirarchy.

The race to De-Constitute Nigeria is the new pressure. North opposition will have zero effect, unlike the issue of restructuring which is impossible to get around without their support.

The bottomline is thus; protect your ancestral land else the same deception the "barbarians" from futa jallon utilised to subjugate the hausas states and occupy Ilorin (in kwara state) is currently been used to decimate the Kanuris in the northeast whilst the southern part of the country is under siege from the same fulani cells, be it, bandits, kidnappers, herdsmen, boko haram, ISIS, ISWAP etc.
