UYIO  AKWA  IBOM  ( EUROPE)

OUR CONCERN FOR SENATOR JOHN AKPAN UDOEDEHE

We the people of Akwa Ibom State in diaspora under the umbrella of Uyio Akwa Ibom- Europe, hereby write to The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the good People of Akwa Ibom State and the entire Nigerians, to express our concern over the continous detention and baseless trials of one of our dear sons, Senator John Akpan Udoedehe. We also express our condemnation over the current political and ethnic violence in the state.

We further wish to state as follow:
That prior to this present state administration, the state never witnessed any politically motivated kidnapping, killing and violence.

That the latest violence in the state was ignited by Governor Godswill Akpabio's and PDP supporters, after shooting, killing and disrupting Senator Udoedehe's campaign in Ikot Ekpene, the home base of Godswill Akpabio. This attack on Udoedehe and his supporters led to the clash between the PDP and ACN supporters in Uyo, the state capital, in which lives and properties were destroyed.

That after the incident, Senator Udoedehe was arrested, detained with charges of treasonable offence. He was later released on bail and re-arrested in the same court room. His continous detention and charges are baseless, unacceptable, undemocratic and shamefull, lack clarity in all facets and should be released immediately.

That we are strongly behind Senator John Udoedehe in everyway and that  Godswill Akpabio will surely become a victim of our protest vote in the upcoming elections.

That all Akwa Ibom people will resist every attempt by Akpabio to intimidate and manipulate the upcoming elections. We shall all vote and guide our votes till victory is given to Senator John Akpan Udoedehe, our next governor.

That this great injustice, detention and trial of Udoedehe is as a result of frustration and perceived failure by Godswill Akpabio and his group, following the unprecedented turn-out of supporters and show of solidarity by the entire people of Akwa Ibom State at the just concluded ACN gubernatorial rally in Uyo.

That Godswill Akpabio will be held responsible for whatever happens to Senator John Udoedehe, his family and supporters. That change in the state is emminent and must take place as we are tired of money laundering, kidnapping, political violence and killing.

Once again, we condemn in strongest term the continous detention of Senator John Akpan Udoedehe and demand for his released with immediate effect.

We hereby call on the President of the country, Dr. Goodluck Johnathan to order for the immediate release of Senator John Udoedehe, sack the Inspector General of Police because he is partisan and partial in this case and call Governor Godswill Obot Akpabio to order for the interest of democracy, the state and Nigeria at large.

Finally, we believe that better days with peace, prosperity and real sunshine from the east ( AKWA IBOM STATE) are coming.

Thank you.
U.Akpan  For Uyio Akwa Ibom in Diaspora.

What is happening to Akpanudoedehe is patently unfair but don't expect Jonathan to intervene because Mr. President is precisely like all the other "do-or-die" politicians who are his staunch backers . One can expect GEJ to pretend he is blind to Akpabio's excesses , while privately he tacitly endorses all that is going on, In the same way Mr. President never bothered to intervene in Ogun State to check the legislative gangsterism of his SW campaign manager. It is all about gaining power at any cost for GEJ. Did Jonathan not bully Ogbulafor out of the way only to replace him with a man with more skeletons in his cupboard i.e Nwodo? We all forget Jonathan was an important member of the team that Bullied Madam Ayoka Adebayo into her 'senses' so she could declare Oni the winner in the blatantly rigged Ekiti rerun election. We also saw how Jonathan worked feverishly for Uduaghan's re-election efforts. Those examples shows , without doubt , that GEJ is comfortable with injustice and criminality as long as him and his PDP buddies get their way.
