I hope it's not the aspect where he insisted Jesus baptized him himself you are calling complaining.

Because that was a statement of submission and adoration for Christ, remember that John kicked in his mother womb in adoration for Christ when they first meant.

He again maintained his adoration stance when he saw him physically.


If complaining was his sin then Yaweh which was the same Jesus Godhead wouldn't have worked with Moses when he complained multiple times he was a stammar etc

John had fulfilled his purpose as a fore runner of Christ and his mission was complete (he wasn't supposed to live forever)
