No it is a welcome development. Those who can afford the car can afford to charge it by their generator or public power supply. An average weekly commute for most lagosians may just up to 500km per week (Monday to friday).

So for 9 hours of charge which can be done multiples times per week it a great innovation.

In America they have public charging stations just like petrol stations but it’s not free. Which sounds right because of electric bill. You pay with your credit card, park your car and charge for hours while you’re at work.

You go still buy fuel for generator to charge your car

We always have way out in Niferia, we would buy small generator put inside the car if the battery runs out then start the generator to power it

Having power plants spring up is another problem too.
What's the different of using a car and buy fuel and using a car and go to power plant to pay money and charge?

Houses have been everywhere in Nigeria for 100 years now, and we haven't got constant Electricity since all that time.
In some streets, some people used to connect secret wire to Traffic lights so they can use light at home
And you expect that suddenly charging stations will fly around this same Nigeria that criminal guys have been making serious money by selling petrol and diesel generators?

The problem is not the distance, it's the time. We may not cover 100km a day, but inside cities like Lagos, covering 25km may take even more time in a Lagos holdup than covering 400km on a free expressway; which is what the manufacturer meant. So if after a 2 hour charge you fall inside a Lagos hold up, sorry is your name. Plus with the fact that most Nigerians are disorganized, I can absolutely forsee many cars running out of charge all over the streets, further compounding the hold up.
