How to avoid buying property with clone document

There some properties that seems to have the right title document but if you take the face value of the document, you may be making great mistake by investing in such dubious property, even after confirming the existence of such document in the land registery.

The reason being most property document in Lagos are cloned.

According to Omo onile lawyer 7 out of ten property document in Lagos are cloned.

The question then is how do you do title search for the property you intend buying.

First go to the property and pick the coordinates of the property and use it for your title search. You can do this with the help of a surveyor.
You can also request for the gazette or the transaction history of the property you intend buying.

With this you are sure of investing in the right property that will give you peace of mind.

Good advice. But the average Nigerian no de hear word. To avoid paying for professional services they'll cut corners. Most of them would even pay for the property thinking it's a pair of shoes they're buying.
When yawa gas they'll be looking for lawyer to perform magic.

There is nothing as go as working with professionals.

If you intend buying a property especially in Nigeria you MUST do so with the help of a professional realtor and a competent lawyer who understands property matters
