The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) is a mandatory exercise that is scheduled for graduate students to serve across different states of the federation, the aim primarily is to promote National cohesion and tolerance for different beliefs and cultures.

Ear marked in this scheme is the opportunity for Corp members to voluntarily carry out community development exercises or projects in their place of primary assignment or local government area with funds gotten from the community, in carrying out this scheme proper documentation is required by NYSC and submitted for vetting, if the Corp member is found worthy he/she is given honour's award in recognition of their extra contributions.

This scheme have helped put the NYSC in a good light even though it gulps huge National resource, but the value it adds to the various community across the country and the National cohesion it promotes remains superior to monetary gains.

Following the presidential award ceremony which will take place today in the Villa for 2016 to 2018 Corp members that have served the Nation and did extraordinarily in their place of primary assignment, so many questions comes to mind:

1. Where is committee that was inaugurated to vet the projects and the respective Corp members?

2. Why is current list of selected Corp members without their states of origin, because the selection is carried out based on the best according to states of origin of a serving year?

3. Why are some states of the federation not captured in the current list?

4. There was a social media group on WhatsApp that contains the list of some Corp members across the country eligible by NYSC standards for the presidential award within the stated set, none received a call, could it be that not a single person did well?

To this effect the attention of the current DG of NYSC has been drawn to this perceived Opacity, he expressed his dismay and cares deeply about the issues raised, he pointificates that he would look into the matter, it is with hope that justice is done and answers are rendered to the questions above and meritocracy thrives over any form of bias.
