Perhaps the reason for this anger is the accumulated helpless situation a good number of families who are farmers have suffered in the hands of some wicked herds men.

An uncle of mine, a farmer shared his experience with us. This was very long ago, say about 25 years ago. What is happening today is not new. He told us how after harvesting his yams and have piled them in one place, hoping to be loaded in a truck.

A herd of cows showed up from the bushes, along with their herder. The Sun was about to set. Armed with a Matchette, and surprisingly a gun hanging on his shoulder. His herd was lead directly to the pile of yams. My uncle was helpless, he watched as his sweat was turned to tears. Crying was better than confronting him, because he knows so well he will either be injured or killed. OF COURSE, THIS KIND OF INVASION BY ARMED HERDS MEN HAS BEEN HAPPENING WAY LONG AGO.

Even down North. There are clashes between farmers and herders which do end up as communal clash.
