Many opinions have pointed out that Northern leaders are being diplomatic and civil for asking Northerners not to attack Yorubas. Atleast if you are aged over 15years. You would have learnt over the years that North is the hot bed of sectarian violence. Religion and ethnic cleansing is a commonplace in the north. Any cough in Yorubaland always lead to full blown massacre in the North.

But what changed this time around?

The number 1 reason is, Yorubas are getting tired of Nigeria and are becoming violent. Yorubas are getting tired of being accommodating, they have lost a lot (Lives and Properties) to being friendly host to other tribes. The level of fulani-hausa resentment is growing in Yoruba land. An average Yoruba man (Leave out the political class and their beneficiaries) want yorubas to leave Nigeria and start "Yoruba Nation".

In the past 10years, Odua nation was a poor selling brand among yorubas. But like Biafra people, Odua nation is getting popular among Yorubas both at home and in Diaspora. Many notable yoruba leaders are now publicly supporting Odua country. And this is becoming a shock to Northern leaders.

Northern leaders know that the unity of this country is at the most fragile point. Any attempt to avenge will cause more ripple effect and lead to full scale war. Some of us are aware of Yoruba secessionists who are preparing for militancy (Not Sunday Igboho gang). These set of people will take advantage of the situation and set the country on fire. Northerners know how brutal Yorubas can be. Ibadan attack was just a random burning of properties. But Ile-Ife was a massacre. Ile-Ife/Modakeke people have no joy when it comes to killing. These are just examples of what Yorubas are capable of.

Its a common knowledge even to the presidency that our law enforcement and military are overstretched or incapable. They are only trained to protect fulani interest and shoot at unarmed civilians. They have proven over and over that they cannot withstand an armed group e.g. Boko haram, Bandits, ESN, Sunday Igboho. Remember Yoruba-hausa clash in mile 12? When the police came to join hausas to shoot Yorubas. But the endsars protest that saw many police killed, many police stations burnt have shown Nigerian Nigerian police what bloody Yoruba civilian are capable of.

Fagba in Agege is also another example of what Yoruba tout are capable of. Next ethnic clash will be gory as Northern reliance on armed force for support will fail.

In addition, a civil war will end fulanization agenda. And fulanis are wise not to invest in any venture that can lead to them loosing power.

Nigeria unity is really very fragile now. God help us.

You forgot the sleeping tiger, waiting for opportunity to devour. IPOB, any full scale war is opportunity for IPOB to go on rampage. Those Northerners are calculative. They play chess very well. Infact they are chess masters.

Mind you, they will calm yoruba down. You can see the appointment bubu is giving them recently. And Tinubu their loyal servant will help them calm things down

I wish you know how much Yorubas hate Tinubu and the recent crisis saw Amotekun joining Yorubas in the massacre despite heavy military presence sent to protect the Hausas and that's why i believe hotwax where he said the military and law enforcement are overstretched on that day of the attack Police did not attend to any distress call

in my own opinion I think Yorubas are now getting wise

You guys do not understand things.

Their mission is to impoverish and hijack the South, on a multi-front level.

1. Arrest and intimidate Southern Youths.
2. Destroy their farmland so they depend on North for food, while waiting for time for hunger games.
3. Ensure that the Northerners infiltrate all forests and prepare for war time games.
4. Allow Northerners to hijack the economy.
5. Use political positions to disrupt their loyal and use their best politicians as loyal slaves.
6. Ban Bitcoin and approve BDC licenses to only Northerners.
7. Fulani Herdsmen with arms are actually Boko Haram settling in the South and waiting for transmission of order from their Shortwave Radio.
8. Capture and rename forests and build a mosque.
9. Rinse and repeat and wait for orders.
10. Make the Southerners to run to abroad never to return while you take their lands.

Repeat this for a generation and the only people all over the Southern States will look like Musa, and speak like Mohammed and Sing like Aisha.

More than anything else the breaking point and most fatal mistake of the North in over-testing Yorubas was attacking Yorubas in Ibadan which proved fatal. I'm an Igbo boy born and raised in Ibadan, and I know enough not to mess with Ibadan people...Ibadan is the beehive of Yoruba militancy and ruthlessness... all the most violent street thugs, street fighters, vigilantes etc you can find in the SW are headquartered in Ibadan. I witness lots of ethnic violence when growing up in Ibadan - especially Sango and Beere axis), and the brutality of the killings alone was scarring reminiscence for me.

Ibadan is the South East equivalence of Aba or Onitsha when it comes to having no joy, that's why Hausas can do nonsense anywhere in the East and maybe get away with it... but in Aba and Onitsha? it will be a Slaughter house for them.

Only a fool will believe Igbos are those touts fighting and burning police stations that day. We all saw videos. I am a yoruba man. I wont play ostrich and denial on that. They were yoruba touts. Beside how many Igbo touts are in ;lagos to be bold to go to Isale Eko, Yoruba strong hold to go and burn stuff?

They are northern strategy to discredit the protest

The truth is that every southern part of the country is groaning under the burden of northern terrorism. Money that should be used to develop the country are being looted in the name of fighting terrorism. Secondly Buhari actions has completely relegated other ethnic nationalities to the background thereby enthroning Fulani/ northern supremacy.
The south is getting fed up already and a little spark is enough to cause a full scale war and even military intervention will not work due the fact that the present crop of military men are more loyal to their ethnic groups than the country in general. So the north is avoiding confrontations and their leaders will not watch and see their meal ticket taken away from them while trying to get even with the south.
The truth is that Nigeria should end and the time to end it is now. This will save us from more unnecessary bloodshed

You sabi well.

The kind of killings, kidnappings, and other violent crimes going on even in the North right now is tragic. Still they keep mute. It's simply because a northerner is in power. Let them be out of power and see the way they will react to provocations.

The northerners never wanted Amotekun in the first place,so that one alone was a shocker for them...there is an interview I saw,you need to see how the fulani man was so much against the formation of Amotekun,he spoke of it with resentment and some kind of unsettled behaviour.
They always try to peach igbos against Yorubas.

Good points you enumerated.
Another reason is that the Monolithic North no longer exist. The Nupes, Kanuris, Bachamas, Bakulung, Biroms, Chamba, Tivs, Idomas etc will no longer support the Hausa/Fulani to fight the South unlike before. This is their greatest fear & one of the reasons they didn't retaliate.

Keep deceiving yourself. Yoruba is this, yoruba is that. My foot! Yorubas are cowards

The ONLY reason the North hasn't responded to recent killings is because the other major tribe (Igbos) don't give a Bleep about them too. If they do it, the entire south will be against them which is dangerous.

Usually, they would have turned to the Igbos & dealt with the yorubas to divide the south. Now they can't do that thanks to the new Igbo hatred for them.

Do you think Python Dance would have happened today after this SW/Northern crises? No. They wouldn't be able to initiate such. The only reason Python Dance happened was because wicked yorubas cheered the north to deal with the SE so the North went ahead. They always need one southern tribe to pit itself against the other for their plans to succeed.

Thank Nnamdi Kanu for his work in the east, if not, by now, truckloads of soldiers would be rolling into the south west as we speak...

And for those who say Igbos don't know how to play politics and are unsophisticated, have a rethink...

If Nnamdi Kanu or Igbo stakeholders come out to speak against yoruba in this crises, or give any hint that yorubas are on their own, the north will send in soldiers to deal with SW the next day...

Yoruba faced the police during endsars although they are miscreants and area boys. Remember police have not recovered yet. Thats a lesson to all that no one is a coward.

Ibo people can be afraid of soldiers as can be seen by python dance.

Your comments here is why yoruba mock you during the python dance. You hate yorubas but always claim victims when yorubas dont support you.
