You don't get it, I hold one of the 5 world most powerful passports. I can travel over 160 countries without queing up in any of their respective Embassies. Before now I visit Nigeria 2 times a year.

I am not an ilegal immigrant. Just tired of being a foreigner, tired of being afraid to stay in my own country 'as if man na fugitive' just because of the embeciles who selected themselves to be leaders.

For how long? Hope you get the word 'fugitive ' now?

Modified. Canada, USA and Asian countries inclusive.

Yeah, now I understand you better....but if I may ask; Why are you tired of being a foreigner?

I cannot decieve myself being whom/ what I am not. Holding a citizenship of another country doesn't change my racial or cultural status. If you are in a foreign country that makes you a foreigner, I was born and brought up in Nigeria my country, that's where my heart is.

I don't expect you to understand all these if you are in Nigeria and never travelled out, though it all still depends on individual.

I understand you perfectly well. Your line of thought has always been my position as well. I was born and bred in Nigeria, but I travel abroad.

I was in a restaurant in London with a friend some years back and I overheard a Nigerian with our accent calling himself a Briton; I was taken aback by his comment and wondered in my mind "How can I say I am British or American?" because deep down in my heart, I know I am not; I will be troubled in my spirit if I try to claim who or what I am not, just like you rightly said.

On the other hand, If my children are born and bred in the UK or US, they can claim whatever they like but they would know their lineage.

As for me, just like you- Home will be home, that's where my heart lies.

Cheers.

How is it scamming....look at your reasoning.
Is it fake visa or false identification I paid for?

TWoods:

grin grin grin I would argue that you simply reaped what you attempted to sow. You tried to scam your way to a visa and got scammed by a smarter scammer. There is precious little difference between the two of you.

Because you have achieved something, that’s why you can say that. You can wake up any day to visit anywhere and won’t be tagged. But please stop advising other people to not travel like you did earlier. You may choose to go back to Nigeria, that’s you and solely responsible for yourself. But people that aren’t doing anything and no hope hope in Nigeria, you shouldn’t be asking then not to travel because you have seen everything.

Kindly point out where in my post I suggested or discouraged people from travelling out of Nigeria.

Was denied U.S visa in 2019. Guess our profile didn't add up; 6months into marriage, no kids yet. We (I n hubby) were given a yellow paper.

This was a visiting visa case right

brother this is a lie Biden just lifted ban

People got visas during the ban, it just took longer and you had to present 10-15-year-old id document, to get the visa. And the ban affected just immigrant cases

that guys case is definitely not a migrant case, it's a visitors visa.

My first experience was in March 2015.
When my American ex wife send $3500.
I had told her that incase I get denied she'd have to come to Naija..
Na blue paper Dem give me... Damn... I couldn't eat n was demoralized like say na my papa house Dem refuse me to go.
So I had to pay a lawyer to help her get a 24mths naija visa. Then also booked her ticket via united airlines...
29th May 2015 she landed.
The next day we headed to ikoyi..
Was a Saturday...
Then on Monday I had another interview at the embassy..
This time na black woman interview me..
She just say... Your wife has to file for u when she gets back to America..
Na then I know say.... Women interviewer na bad luck for me...
Fast forward 2017 March 15, I applied again..
Na another white woman again.. I knew my papa curse strong Gan.. Upon all the questions she asked n I answered correctly... She still gimme blue paper.
Already had my SA visa then.
Had to jet out to OR Tambo 7th april
Anywhere is better Than naija. But to b honest I don't hate USA now..
To go there no even hungry me again..
Maybe when time is right.
We go try Canada or Belgium..
I no like stress for my life again

Big man, you wasted time and money sha. Your ex-wife could have filed for you

Give or take 18months - 24 months you would get your visa. So far it's a legit marriage and it's filled with love

That $3500 would have done your uscis filling, NVC fee, medicals and you might add just small for your ticket and green card fee.

it rakes time oooo, it's money consuming and also stressful, but cr-1/ir-1 visa is still the best.

Hello bro, congratulations.
I'm happy for you. Do US still issue visa under this COVID? Secondly, are you going for studies or tourism?
They give more of student visa

But if you can convince them that you really have an important conference to attend. They will issue you B1/B2 visa

Tourism and conference falls under B1/B2

Most Nigerians in the US will try and discourage you from coming with all sorts of lies and excuses because they don’t want more people here, they want to have it all to themselves

Don’t let anyone tell you lies. US is filled with money making opportunities

Bro do you have any plans of changing your b1/b2 to work permit or greencard because without those two you can't work and access those opportunities you are talking about.

You now avoid this thread? I asked where in my post I advised or discouraged people from travelling out of Nigeria?

Now take my advice, work on your reading and comprehension skills before attending any visa application interview. 'Good luck as I said earlier on'

Lol. You expect me to sleep here on NAIRALAND like I don’t have things going on in my life... Would you point out how your post is related to the topic, or what’s the essence of telling us about going back to Nigeria and not living as a foreigner somewhere far away from home?

As for your last paragraph, I don’t even know what response best fits that but thank You, I will look into that if I have to travel out of the US anytime.

I will soon be call up for an interview for immigrant Visa application. I'm kinda nervous as to the kind of questions they will be asking.. And I'm also curious as to which has more success rate among applicants, Nonimmigrant or Immigrant visa..

My mum is a citizen though and she's the one petitioning for me to join her as a permanent resident

Please people reading, make sure you go legally to the US.

no matter what you do, don't buy this lies from people. Life of an illegal immigrant is so complicated and brutal. Black Americans would use your eye too see shege.

Job you should be collecting, $10 an hr for, you could be offered $3 and you wouldn't have a choice.

no go jump from frying pan to fire ooooo. Please

Yours is a straight foward case, immigrant visas are hardly denied at the embassy, so far you are legit

it's non immigrant, that they gamble with.

Take old pictures of you and your mum dating back years, know the history of her application ( when she travelled, when she became a citizen, how did she travel e.t.c), know the history of your application, take chat and call records along with you, if she has sent money too you over the years, take the receipts too. E.t.c take your medical records, school records, and birth certificate all to prove she is your mother.

go there, say the truth, don't lie.

Worst case scenario, they put you on administrative processing, asking for a DNA test,

As I said if you are legit, you would pass the DNA. I wish you success

Wow it's like you work with these people because you just stated exactly what they have been asking of us and we've submitted these documents to them so far except maybe the old pictures and evidence of receiving money from her.. I have enough evidence of receiving money from her though but as for the old pictures of us together we've lost all of them.

They ask for a DNA but they said it's optional but our case could Stand a better chance if we did it. But we didn't because we couldn't travel to Lagos as there was a lockdown because of the Covid 19 palava yet they approved of it and we are now getting prepared to be called up for interview..

Though a friend of my mum's said they might ask for the DNA again just so they establish facts that truly she's our mother..that's really no problem though because she is really our mother biologically....

She petitioned for me and my older brother.

Thanks for your contribution..
