I'm a Muslim faithful but I wonder what Muslims were doing in Christian schools in the first place. Mbanu!! There's something sinister and it's got no place in the Quran, just narcissism and oppression. These aren't Muslims but pretenders!

I don't want to mention what I did to a lady from that state and the funny thing is she was wearing those heavy hijab (from up to down with socks). I mean she is an hijabia, about to be promoted to the level of those that wear net on their faces.

I don't want to mention others.

Theres nothing wrong with allowing muslims wear hijab. As long as it is not the full covering for security purpose.

We should tolerate others. As long as this is not forced on the students and it stops at just following the dress code.

Lets just leave trivialities and live in peace.
when u allow them to where not full ijab so later they increase it to full abi.
first they allow them to have small space for praying, later they increase it to small mosque. these people are Oliver Twist

A lot of comments here are quite worrisome and it seems like some people have been trained to hate Islam and Muslims because of their modest form of dressing in the hijab, as opposed to their own immoral dresses and way of life. Obviously a lot of this people, especially some christians that preach tolerance are irritant who don't wish for morality to prevail in our society. I can also understand from the comment that some are geniunely ignorant about government being the true owners of the aforementioned schools and hence their argument against the usage of the hijabs in the supposed "christian schools" was justified!

However, since government owned this schools, Muslims who wish to exercise their religious right should be free to do so without being intimidated in any form!!!

Simple...
Shay nah u build it for d govt. u better ask old person in your house for d history of missionary schools in nigeria.
ansaru Islam school that can not even allow Christian teacher to do 10 mins prayer in an ordinary empty class. muslims should first check how they are treating Christian teachers and students in Muslim schools first b4 they can comment.

I see no reason why Muslim students should be denied their constitutional rights.

Moreover, these schools are government schools (though bearing Christian names). All Muslim students, in particular, female students should be allowed to dress in Hijab since these schools are for the public.
ok! Point taken. But hope muslim schools will allow other religion and traditional worshippers to wear their own cultural and religious attires to the school.
Why do Muslims like creating so much trouble

Who told you imams don't do all wrongs? What I'm telling the guy is that people abusing use of something doesn't mean we should criticize the thing, most importantly when it's not that thing thats the cause of it.

What you wear has 1000000000 of things to say about you. There are somethings abroad that are normal trends of fashion that only irresponsibility that can push you to it down here. Even in that so called "saner climes", there are ways you dress to different locations.

Look, we Muslims knows what's right from what's wrong and we won't bend to backwardness just because everyone feel it's right. Why should a lady dress like that to anywhere in this world? Why should a lady be naked in front of men? It's not civilization but backwardness.

I can't allow my own child to be under anyone tutelage for any reason except for that in which I trust and believe in too.

Lastly, I'm not saying covenant should allow Muslims to wear hijab in their privately owned schools because I won't allow such in my own school too but preventing student to wear hijab in public school is what's wrong.

Hope your irreligious?
You claim to know what is right and wrong, that is a lie. The public school is St peter catholic school, how does that sound to you? Is not Nigerian national school. Go back to history and see if right or wrong these schools were government schools.

If you know right and wrong then after now no need for hijab debate.

Like i said i cannot take my ward to Islamic school because i don't want to cause problem.

And If Muslims truly want peace they know what to do but this act of invasion as always in anything they want must be put to an end.

You can open Mosques up and down why not schools?

Christianity and Islam are not joint venture unless in a case both agreed to work together. And in the case of hijab, the Church say No. And that ought to have been respected been that the Muslims have right to also say No.
Acknowledge there are differences and they must be tolerated and accepted by both sides, moving forward.

This is more simple than ABC.

Civilisation or backwardness, we should learn to accept and welcome things like culture, norms, rules the way they are especially if it is not within our jurisdiction. It does not belong to us but others.
Again, there is a saying "where your right stop, another man right start".

One love.

The truth must be told, these were mission schools and yet the state government wants to impose Islam on these mission schools, it's very wrong. I attended government school growing up, but the Tinubu govt returned it to an Islamic organization back then in 2021, this Islamic organization made it clear that it is Islamic assembly and IRK classes or nothing. whoever rejected it was beaten and punished as the case may be, but if it was a Christian Mission school despite the liberal way of administration, the Muslims will still want to impose their hijab and mosque in the school premises as though they are out of the laws of the school. Very unfortunate really.

Some people just like causing problem where there is non! Enough of this nonsense!!!Christian schools like most schools have rules and regulations guiding them and it is called 'dress code'. Should traditionalists dress in masquerade or native apparel to schools because of freedom of religion?
Re: Hijab: Kwara Directs Closure Of Schools In Ilorin by NwaliE01: 7:43pm On Feb 19, 2021
Closed Christian schools because Muslims want to practice their religion inside Christian school.
It's like an Alpha using New Testament Bible to preach in the mosque or a Pastor using Quran.

Make them free missionary schools abeg. Since Government put hand and withdraw the school from churches.
Public schools have been in shambles.

How did the government give their schools Christian names?

Christians cannot get admission into Christian founded schools because of people who are fighting jihad over what doesn't belong to them. Christian teachers are posted into the bush while Muslims teach in Christian schools. Muslim school in Ilorin don't teach CRS. Christians cannot build chapels in Muslim schools.

The war has been on for a long time. I think the issue should be handled with care to avoid a riot. It is not a must for Abdul to attend C&S College now.

These schools were built by Christian community which government is not renovating and the Christians still contribute money to maintain their "legacy". What was the compensation paid when the schools were forcefully taken over?

The point is that it got so bad in Kwara that Christian boys and girls were not getting admitted to some of these schools in the early 90's. That was why C&S Laduba, Emmanuel College Tanke, Chapel, ESS Ganmo etc came up as private/ mission schools.

Modified

The issue could be beyond just hijab. I know there was time last year that some folks muted idea of building a mosque inside Bishop Smith College. The question is, can they allow a chapel at college of Arabic, Ilorin being funded with government money?
You have said it well, but when the community was issued out the land its mainly meant for education, so y now u want Abdul to attend only AUD not baptists school, both religious lack tolerance

Its a school (not a mosque/church) for crying out loud..
Theres a reason why professional teachers have dress code..
There should be a standard uniform for student as well (muslim/xtian).
It is a govt school, there shd be no discrimination in admitting any qualified candidate...
If you wanna practise your religion while schooling then go for schools where your religious doctrines are allowed...

Its so simple really..
