Funny nation! No truck driver likes hanging around the roads close to the Ports.

They don’t make money when parked, these guys only make money when they are on the move.

NPA improve your processes and see the traffic disappear.

Ask for help from countries doing it right.

And while you are at that think of how you can exploit the other ports, waterways, rail, etc.

The trucks are not the problem . The system is the problem.

Both . System and law breakers, they exist where systems work.

Nigerian politicians are deliberately obtuse. Provide truck stops for these people within the vicinity, they can pay reasonable parking fees that will be tacked onto their overheads instead of bribing government officials with as much as 40% of total cost of each transaction/trip.

Either this or they keep clogging Ikorodu road and it's feeder bridges with their dead weight.

The terminal operator should also help by giving containers to off dock terminals

And the police are so complicit in this act . They are making bogus money out of it .

Imagine , for you to get a truck out Tincan port you cough out 1.2millllon just within Lagos environs

If the govt can be this desperate for money, what should an average Nigerian do then?

E je ka so'ra ooo cool

So you think that in the US, UK and all the other civilized nations where cars are impounded, it’s because their govts are desperate for money?
A reason with Nigeria’s hapless condition is impunity from EVERYONE - the rich and the poor, the rulers and the ruled, the citizen and the govt!

Did you lot bother to read the article at all?
Because it seems that “improving the process” (including providing “truck stops”) was exactly the point. shocked

LibertyRep:
Including Dangote trucks too? Make the guy no vex say him no dey sell refined oil for us again.

On a serious note, three things will reduce the congestion

1. Open up and enlarge the ports in the other parts of the nation.

2. Remove the unnecessary bottlenecks, touts and layers of corruption at the port to make business seamless.

3. Most importantly, FIX THE ROAD.

Do these things and some level of sanity at that axis.

Exactly what does Dangote have to do with the ports (except folks are pursuing their own ethnic agenda)?
Dangote trucks do NOT carry containers, and IRONICALLY he’s the one rebuilding the expressway leading to the ports. SMH
