In a country where bandits are getting 800 million. Tufiakwa. Her parents should take her to bahrain. She would follow the footsteps of that igbo lady that broke the 800metres olympic records for bahrain. |

emmabest2000: Ebelechukwu Agbapuonwu aka Salwa Ed Naser was a child prodigy from Anambra state. She is a world champion today representing Bahrain. There are many like her. Francis Obikwelu won lots of medals for Portugal after issues with AFN, Glory Alozie won silver at the Sidney Olympics for Nigeria but left for Spain later. Remember Ebelechukwu Agbapuonwu whose name is now Salwa Eid Naser. She was a child prodigy like this gymnast but never appreciated by Nigeria. She represents Bahrain now and she is a world champion in 400m. 2 Likes |

Sports budget for Nigeria is already small, before the looting comes in. Also, tax to gdp ratio for Nigeria is very low , again before the looting. The truth is, if she wants sponsorship, she either has to go private...and find a company to fund her. Unless Nigeria changes the way it gets its revenue...right now we all rely on oil which isn't enough for all of us...talkless of even the Niger Delta as a whole....we cannot fund any sportsman easily. |

Re: Stephanie Onusiriuka Ogechukwu Lacks Sponsorship To Represent Nigeria by Nobody: 10:34am On Feb 20, 2021 |
ghettochild: And you know why SA has the funds to pay for her 1. High tax to gdp ratio. 28.4%..which means they can fund their sports better than Nigeria..5.8% 2.Industrial and diversified economy....again big revenue for their government. 3.Better funding for their education. Here in Nigeria, IF we even talk about raising taxes to the level of SA....there would be cries of 'We are poor'...yet that is how the richer nations afford sponsoring sports. Many Nigerians think we should be like Saudi...when Saudi produces 5 times more oil than we do, and has 30 million people...compared to our 200 millionn |

Re: Stephanie Onusiriuka Ogechukwu Lacks Sponsorship To Represent Nigeria by Nobody: 10:38am On Feb 20, 2021 |
Incognito403: State governments in Nigeria have budgets less than $2 billion annually...before looting. Plus most states don't have high enough tax to gdp ratios. As a result, most states can barely fund sports. Even many states cannot fund football adequately. Attempt to raise taxes....people will shout 'We are poor'. |
