If you can be able to save and establish a business from the offer you got in the North East, I will advise you to take it, level 3 is for SSCE holders.
Level 3 in an agency won’t earn more than 50k, which will take every 4 years before you’re being considered for promotion

Pls let be guided to come here and share info you are not sure of....Conraiss 3 is equivalent to Grade level 4 which is the Entry point for school cert holders...Entry level for a graduate is Conraiss 7..Which is grade level 8...if they placed you in grade level 3 it means you are placed using your school cert...But since you would be on probation..It may be corrected during your regulation exercise after 3 months

Dont even consider it bro, your life will become miserable right in your face if you take grade level 3 offer. Dont even think you will be allow to present your previous degree for upgrade, you might be required to get a fresh degree to be considered.
Aside security concern, consider the North East offer.

You have been employed on a special scale. Not the conventional federal civil service scale. Wait to collect your first salary before you make the wrong move. Otherwise get someone working in the establishment to request more information.
Congrats & best of luck.

is that a normal exercise? Placing a graduate with five years experience on a ssce level?

That job is not meant for you, as a graduate with the core civil service, you are meant to be placed on level 8, step 2, and if you are to accept that offer, you won't rise to the top on time, you might retire even before reaching the position of chief, that's level 14.

What sort of misinformation is this?
A University graduate in any federal parastatal today will either be employed with Conraiss 7 which is same as level 8 depending on the salary scale of the place.
If it's Law or Medicine or vet medicine, she gets to be placed on level9 direct.
Level 3 is for school cert holders.
I told him what he wants to hear nah, ask him if he isn't happy with what I told him, he clearly saw level 3, and he is asking questions wetin make I answer am nah

Please go to the agency, collect the employment letter, ask questions while there, it's possible the salary expectation will be in the employment letter. If not, ask the people around whether the level is for junior or senior officers or even for management level. I will advice don't turn down any fed government job no matter the level.

Na who tell you say I be aboki, and for your information there are more people from the south than the north that were interviewed for the job.

You should be objective with how you think.

what's the name of the agency

Hello everyone, please I need your opinion on this issues. I got an employment letter for federal government job I interviewed for last year. During the interview the panel actually told me I am way too qualified for the position they are interviewing me for to which I replied them I will take the offer as long as I can progress and grow through the ranks and they told me that they loved my reply that that was what they were expecting me to say.

Today, I received a mail containing my appointment letter and I see the gave me grade level 3 step 2. Although it is a newly commissioned government agency and I am a university graduate with about 5 years work experience. Now I am confused with the grade level I am being offered.

Secondary, I currently have another appointment letter with a private company lacated in the north east, the salary is good with allowance and the working condition is not so bad, I would have loved to take that offer but the location is not favorable to me as my family is scattered between the north west and south west so going to the north east to work will be a difficult thing for me.

I'll be glad if I could get your opinions on this, I don't know how much the Government job would pay yet.

PLEASE SEEK BETTER CLARIFICATIONS B4 U ENSLAVE UR LIFE. WHAT U ARE NOT CLEAR OF IS A VERY DANGEROUS TRAP,PLS. GET DETAILS B4 U APPEND UR SIGNATURE OF ACCEPTANCE AND DOCUMENTATION...PLS

I was told graduates usually start at grade level 8 when they start off in the civil service.

The older folks in my family who spent all their lives in the Nigerian Civil Service system explained that much to me. Unless I didn't get them right... sad

So, if OP is getting Level 03, then that is no entry level for a graduate in the civil service.

Just my thoughts.

I think the civil service is boring by the way. Apologies to all civil servants who might get offended.

So do u have an idea what the salary would be and what does CONRAISS mean
CONRAISS is a salary structure for research parastatal, and the salary is higher than that of the core civil service, that means ministries.
