Daniel Prude, died in Rochester city after officers put him in spit-hood designed to protect police. The police officers that filmed Prude until he stopped breathing would not be charged over his death. The death in March last year led to protest against the police. A grand jury had declined to indict any officers involved. Ms James had voiced out her disappointment over the decision the Grand jury made. Mr. Prudes death was one of the key events that led up to the protest over racial injustice in the US.
