Who Else Wants To Break Free From Negative Addictions? by AbasiofofonUdoh(m): 11:00am On Feb 26, 2021
Attention births addiction
What you are attentive to determines what you are addicted to
When your attention is negative...negative addictions emerge
No one gets addicted to porn overnight
One nude pic, one porn video...the next one and another one
...and boom! Pornography becomes an addiction

Same with smoking
You started with a half stick of cigar from a friend, 1 stick, and then 3 sticks...today 10 sticks no dey do you.
Baba o!
Now, you're even taking cocaine
In life whatever you pay attention to expands
That's how you've paid attention to betting, today N200 cannot survive in your pocket...gambling has become an addiction
Well, my friend there are steps to burying addictions before they bury you

1. Engage to disengage

Engage yourself to disengage from that negative addiction
Get busy on something productive
An idle man is still the devil's workshop
70% of addictions emerge from consistent idleness
You're jobless...you like to stay alone and idle
Get a job. Learn a high income skill. Work on something.
Replace that negative addiction with positive action
Focus on positive action and it will become a new positive addiction

2. Leave the wrong people

"Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are" is still very true.
If you hang around 3 millionaires you will become the 4th millionaire
If you hang around just 1 smoker you will become the next smoker
Leave the wrong people and associate with the right people.

3. Be accountable to somebody

Negative addictions hate accountability
Find a mentor and be accountable to him/her
It could be your pastor, your doctor or somebody with influence in your life. Somebody you can submit to.
Let him/her know what you're going through
Don't hide your shame before it will shame you
Mentors add mint to your life

4. Identify your weak spot

Your weak spot is your trigger spot...your danger zone
Until I quit masturbation, my weak spot was whenever I was alone.
Identify your weak spot and weaken it...I mean do the immediate opposite
If your weak spot is when you're alone then avoid lonely places.
Have somebody around or be around somebody
Whatever your weak spot is do the immediate opposite immediately.

5. Pray

Prayer breaks negative addictions
It cannot be overstressed...when you fail to pray you become a prey
You can add fasting where necessary

Every negative addiction CAN be broken.
Make up your mind to break that addiction
One day at a time...follow the steps I have suggested above and see your life soar

Break that addiction before it breaks you.

I remain
