what are the benefits of obtaining CFA  and can someone into IT consulting and Project management benefit from being CFA certified . please i need answers to decide my career path. well known NLanders like Anjalekoko, tkb413 are invited to drop a post or 2 . thank u

Though, an IT consultant and project management professional . . . well, maybe you want to make a crossover to finance. I think if you're interested in a finance career, CFA is good. Though how effective and recognized it is in the Nigerian market remains to be seen, in my view. For investment banking professionals looking to distinguish themselves, maybe. But an MBA finance or even an accounting qualification may just be a more reasonable route.

Essentially, though I am not the best qualified person to say this, I am not sure a CFA will open many doors for you in Nigeria. I haven't seen too many finance sector job adverts with CFA as a desirable qualification. I think maybe in 5-10 years, as we get more people quailified from Nigeria. For now, I think not.

I always admire your comments,you say it as it is.Not all these American and Uk based guys who will come here and dish out advise based on what is obtainable in those countries.Even though am in the process of getting all these,its not really for the job mkt, only for personal ego.
