We live in a time when anyone can be blinded to the truth. We do not always see the big picture, the real perspective from God's omniscient view. We are a generation in history (His story) but do not always realise that we are writing our own story or have it written for us; a story like what was written for those who had passed on before us generations ago; a story that will be counted worthy or not, to be recounted from the archives of heaven.

Where are the 'Abrahams', 'Isaacs', 'Jacobs', 'Josephs', 'Davids', 'Esthers', 'Deborahs', 'Peters', 'Pauls', etc, of our time? This is not to say we should become like them --for no man is our role model only Jesus Christ, but as their stories were written, so will ours. We must all go through tests, trials and temptations and may not always understand why yet (Job 23:10, John 16:33, Acts 14:22, Rev. 2:10-11). Nothing else that did not originate from God will matter in all eternity. Living for Jesus is what matters. This life is preparation for the next.

We do not pursue God and His will but the world and its ways. We pursue and focus on the temporary benefits/rewards in this world and forget or take light the eternal rewards in the world to come (Matt. 16:26-27, Luke 12:15). What shall it profit us to gain the whole world and the applause of men but not the commendation of the Master: 'Well done, good and faithful servant...'?
