ALAKE OF EGBALAND COMMENDS THE APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR ELOM AS 3RD VICE-CHANCELLOR OF AE-FUNAI
The Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has commended the appointment of Professor Sunday Oge Elom as the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State.

Oba Gbadebo who is also the Chancellor of the University made the commendation recently when the University delegation led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Nimi Briggs paid him a courtesy call at his palace in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

“I am pleased but not surprised that Professor Sunday Elom was appointed the Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State

“He has been consistent and committed, academically and administratively, and loyal to God and his bosses”, he said.

While speaking at the event, the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Briggs, noted that 87 professors applied for the position of the Vice-Chancellor of the University, but God helped the Council to select Professor Elom, who he said, was the best out of the 87 candidates.

In his remarks, the Vice-chancellor, Professor Elom noted that he was going to build and expand on the solid foundations already laid by his predecessors – the late Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe and Professor Chinedum Uzoma Nwajiuba.
