FUNAAB's VC, Prof. Salako, appointed IITA BoT Member

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Felix Kolawole Salako has been appointed as an ex-officio member, Board of Trustee (BoT), of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).

According to a congratulatory letter issued and signed by the Chairman, IITA Board, Professor Christian Borgemeister, the appointment would be for a period of two years in accordance with the decree establishing the Institute.

The letter further stated that the Director General, IITA, Dr. Nteranya Sanginga and other members of staff would consider it an honour to host the new BoT member at the Institute’s headquarters in Ibadan for an overview of IITA’s work in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.

It would be recalled that the Vice-Chancellor worked successfully on different research projects at the IITA for 11 years from 1989 to 2000 before joining the services of FUNAAB.

Professor Salako, a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of Nigeria (FSSSN) and also a Fellow of the Agricultural Society of Nigeria (FASN) would be succeeding the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Professor Francis Otunta.

Yes o, my professor. Man wey Sabi.

He made life good for us back in school. Infact, I graduated under him in 2018.

It's no surprise to see that he's going from strength to strength.
