The south western government should create a partnership with farmers and amotekun rangers to help with their security, on a smaller level we Yoruba's really need to go back to the old ways of our fathers which is agriculture but also take with us modern day skills that will boost output, the investment opportunity isn't only much but it's a thing of duty to yorubaland. Most yoruba youths don't know that agriculture is a highly profitable venture if done right, i really pray that our government sees this challenge as an opportunity and don't slack on it, if the north gives a blockade we simply need go back to the farms.

I beg, my fellow nairalanders, how do i collect my deposit from MUTUAL. They have refused to pay me my contribution even when the tenure is complete. They charge me 40% deduction from my total contribution which is wrong after leaving my money with them for 5 years.

They have refused to reply my mail, still holding unto my money. Plz is there no body for consumer protection? This is purely impunity. How can they refuse to pay me my money. I mean my deposit that was meant to appreciate but got depreciated. Plz help, help help

I'm in support. We don't even need to spend so much on irrigation and fertiliser down south . Our soil is rich and virile . The government has favoured these northerners so much that they are seeing us as fools. They use our resources to provide irrigation for them for free, we no talk, give them fertiliser, we no talk. Never again shocked. Buhari closed borders against rice without empowering agric graduates by asking them to grow rice for 2 years with soft loan with close supervision and monitoring before finally closing the border. I don't seem to understand the school those in his economic team attended.

South West has proven they are more serious about restructuring than South East.
First, they created their own Amotekun while the S.E Govs are romancing the North
Secondly, they are revamping food production to stop depending on the North

Meanwhile South East Governors and Ohaneze are declaring ESN illegal even calling Army to fight them off

Yorubas are organized
My brother, I understand you, but let us avoid making this kind of statement that can give the wrong impression that the Yorubas are competing with the Ibos, when in actual fact, we are brothers in arms against a common northern enemies.

Our situations are not totally alike, but let's face a common enemy together.

WE WIN

When the wise ones where talking, the west especially the Yoruba Muslims were saying all sort of rubbish that APC will bring about change that will make Nigeria turn to London even after the signs were there in the first term, they still voted for another change. Now, the chicken has surely come home to roost.

Back in the days...Rice was actually reserved for festive season, a very special food.

Pounded Yam and Amala were regulars.... Porridge Corn and Beans most present compared with rice....Above all, meat was scarce....Our Eja Kika, Oku Eko, Pontan are the major protein sources...

How come Cow meat is now very important to us

We need to go back to the bases!

We die here...Their Father. ..I repeat am..Their Father!!!
I no fit laff abeg. I remember very well. Na who dey chop rice before? Na festive period food. My dad till today hates beef. His father died in his late 90s and he's toeing his path already. He hated beef with passion. His preference goes for Bush meat and eja kika (smoked fish). The moment people embraced beef, high blood pressure became so rampant in the society with people dying like fowl over a little stress. Those with history of HBP in their family are even worse off. Regular consumption of Beef go help dem die faster. Amazingly, the fulani sellers don't eat beef but they can keep pushing it to us. I hope our people would learn

No be money politics go kill those leaders? I wish the good people of South East could march against them all. Most of them don't care what happens to their youths. They've lived their lives, only looking for money to maintain their health and that's why they keep running to abuja. Most of their children are overseas. The new ohaneze is a former ambassador.

People are getting aware, rice is currently being grown in ogun state and kogi of which the two states have a partnership deal with Lagos, I don't know where you bought you tomatoes but a friend of mine still told me today that prices are still relatively low, still nobody is "bragging" online but creating awareness for people of the south to go into agriculture, the seme border is open and food can easily be imported from other countries so the north has no edge whatsoever.

How could they have retaliated in the north? Did you hear any yoruba or ibo slaughter or behead any northerners in their own land? Did they invade their onions farm and destroyed it? Did they carry AK 47 and killed them? Southerners are well behaved up north. They're studious. There's no basis for attacking a peaceful man except you want to offend God.

Sasa market clash was caused by a northerner who killed a yoruba, same way it happened nearly 4 years ago in Ife when a fulani killed a welder who was on his way to work early morning, just because a group of yoruba guys came to warn their leader to stop insulting the yoruba woman who was harassed and insulted the previous day just because she divorced one of them whom she married and later went to marry a king in a neighbouring ife town. The woman came to the market and all of them were abusing her. You can't even try this in the north except you wan die. What happened next wasn't sweet a story. Did you read the news today? Ogun people were relocating to the neighbouring Benin Republic over herders attack. Opinion is free, i no blame you.

The only way for peace is to go back to regionalism. We have tried federalism and it only made things worse. The rise of quota system, nepotism and tribalism, marginalisation, policy hostage taking and so on.

the north won't like this, especially states with zero IGR who solely depend on federal allocations. That's why they keep saying they don't want state policing system cos they can't afford it.

Stuffs like that can hardly ever happen again because the north is so fractured that, southerns have their own jurisdiction that is well protected and northerners have too. Take Kaduna for instance we have Kaduna north mostly dominated by Hausa Fulani Muslims and the Kaduna South mostly dominated by Christians both from Northern and Southern extraction. So in the event of any crisis people who get killed are people who are just so unfortunate to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But I just pray for total calm, war isn't an option at all, in the end all sides will be very badly hit.

The Solution to the problem of food in southwest is going mechanised.

Let every rural ward have a tractor. I bet you, Lagos will be de congested.

Let every Rich Yoruba present their village a tractor

Let every member of the Senate, house of rep, minister and all juicy Yoruba public office holder present a tractor to their origin.

Let churches support their host communities with tractors.

If we have 2000 unit of tractors in southwest we will outshine the North.

Government of southwestern state shoud provide an enabling environment for the production of locally made tractors most especially the hand tractor.

Tractors range from twenty million naira to about five hundred thousand naira (Hand tractors)

No. What they should do is provide the serious and outstanding ones among you with funds to start your own modern and mechanised crop and livestock farms.

That's how best to put your specialist qualifications to use for the SW.

Note that the destruction of farms and attacks on farmers by herders is a deliberate action to discourage the west from farming.

Some great points. I have actually begun reading up about modern and mechanised food crop and livestock farming since this bull rap from the North began. No turning back.

I have even spoken to relatives in Ogun State about purchase of farm land. Very encouraging to be honest. Security will need addressing though.

Indeed.I live in Lagos but I am now doing serious research about modern and mechanised farming in Ogun State.

You are right that security needs to be optimal otherwise a lot of prospective farmers would be putting off thus ruining what should be a new dawn of returning to the soil for the SW.
