Sharing your idea with the bakers for your custom cake can be a difficult thing. In this case, the best thing to do is bake a cake all by yourself. This guide will help with each step of baking a cake. In that manner, not only will you be able to get the shape of the cake according to your requirements but you will save a lot of money too.

How To Make A Chocolate Cake At Home
Here’s the guide to help you bake the best chocolate cakes for your upcoming celebration:

1- Outline The Cake In Your Mind
The first step is you need to decide which kind of birthday cakes you want at your birthday party. There are various options like a chocolate cake, cream cake, ice cream cake. This step will define the shape and type of the cake you will be getting at.

You should make a rough sketch of the expected shape of the cake so that you can navigate through the process as required. It helps while baking the cake.

2- Gather The Tools
Then you need to gather proper tools for the project. You need to get a set of round cake pans. Then select the baking pans based on the shape of the cake you outlined in the previous step. To complete the set of your tools, add an electric mixer, spatula, and cake dowels to the list.

After collecting all the mentioned tools, start collecting the ingredients that would be required during the process. Start with the basic ingredients like flour, eggs, milk, unsalted butter, and baking soda. Since this is a chocolate cake, you will need cocoa powder too. To give your cake a nice layer of chocolate on top, get the baking chocolate too.

3- Make The Cake Batter
The first step to make the cake is to prepare the batter. For that, take a bowl and place the eggs, butter, and milk in it. With the help of a spatula, mix these ingredients thoroughly.

Then carefully add all the remaining ingredients to the bowl too. The sudden addition of these ingredients may cause a splash. During this process, turn the oven on and let it preheat for a few minutes. It will help you bake the cake from all sides equally.

4- Place The Batter Into The Oven
Once the oven has been preheated, place the batter in the oven. Do not forget to wear mittens for your safety. The baking time for a cake varies from ingredients to ingredients. Generally, remember to leave it in the oven for about 40 minutes at 340° Fahrenheit.

Now, during the time the cake is being baked, you can focus on preparing the decorations for the cake. You can make anything that comes into your imagination using fondant that could be placed on the cake later.

5- Remove The Cake From The Oven
The next step is to wear the mittens once again to open the oven and remove the cake from it. Check to confirm if the cake is baked properly. If you feel like it may need a little bit more time in the oven, do place it in the oven for a couple of minutes.

6- Presenting The Cake
The final step is to debate your cake in a presentable manner. First, cut the sharp edges of the cake with help of a knife. Place a layer of chocolate on top of the cake. Then add the previously prepared decorations to the cake. And done, your cake is ready to be presented to the guests.
