1. That was a flawed, bogus and inaccurate comparison, a comparison, that was an estimate made back in 2013, 8 long years ago

Stop paying attention to useless and worthless Nigeria news media, they sent you on a foolish errand with irresponsible, flawed and misleading numbers that credible news outlets won't use.

2. Comparisons mean today's cost, today's cost of labor, today's cost of materials, cost of imports, cost of transportation and so on, not an irrelevant estimate from 8 years ago.

3. The estimated cost for the same project you are talking about by another publication put the cost at N1,141,485,237.00 Trillion.

4. Estimate is just an estimate, not contractors producing their actual and total contractual cost, there's a difference between the estimate and real cost.

I know there's corruption in Nigeria, but that doesn't mean we must throw away our sense of thinking, logic, and basic ability to rationalize and process news just because we are always desperate to think and believe that Nigeria is corrupt.

So..??
2 Billion Naira for a kilometer of road is perfectly normal!?
This is not even the construction of a new road.. This is a contract for the RECONSTRUCTION of an already existing road!
What are you trying to do? Sell a dog poop as candy??

You are in no position to determining what's too much or what's normal or not unless you have facts and figures, the current cost of labor, materials, and everything that goes into road construction and while you are at it, show us the specification the government required.

Your emotions and feelings are not facts or reality.

Reconstruction meaning they are doing the exact same thing that was done before, meaning a new road from scratch. Getting rid of the old road/surface is time-consuming and comes with an extra cost even before new construction starts.

Stop reading and running away with headlines.

All because I did not believe your claims without facts?

Not really..
You're unbelievable because you actively support corruption! I mean, inspite of the mounting evidence of over-invoicing here, you are determined to juggle facts and play ignorance just to encourage looting..
All the "facts" you need are there in the article..., I don't know the facts you are still looking for...

Again, you are not in any position to determine anything including corruption, you don't have facts to show that the cost is high or low, you are not a construction engineer and you have zero clues about road construction.

It's really silly to say despite mounting evidence when in fact you showed no evidence to justify your corruption claim.

If you don't know the meaning of corruption, google the meaning or look in the dictionary.

Did you read the initial article at all? What other evidence are you looking for? Can you stick out your neck and proudly assert that 2.1 Billion per kilometer of road is fair and remotely right, especially taking into cognizance the different examples alluded to in the article? What exactly are you rambling about.? This is how some of you jumped out of your skins to defend the ruthlessly evil price of cement set by one vicious Dangote in this very unfortunate country.. They call it market forces.. Obviously, irrespective of how inhumane and counterproductive the actions or policies of a favoured politician/oligarch are, there will always be no shortages of partisan hacks and internet hirelings, desperately unleashing all sorts of dubious arguments to defend the indefensible...
