But on d other side, we are yet to see d effect of subsidy removal.. Minimum wage is still too low probably around $70 per month..

In saner climes, fuel cost higher, but they can afford it cos they earn well..

Buhari moved from Change to Next Level.

Nigerians are already campaigning for their oppressors cum looters like Orji Kalu, Tinubu, El Rufai or Atiku to mount the saddle and move them to Next Next Level. grin grin

I am enjoying the tragi-comedy called Nigeria and her infinite number of mor.ons.

Same people that were asking for removal of subsidy . are the same people who will crucify you if you ever remove petrol subsidy. I'm not in support of buhari regime but we can't continue subsidising petrol.

I hope there will be lasting solution to the increment in crude oil refining and transportation after dangote refinery commence production.

A review of the pricing template showed the average price per ton of the commodity at about $561.96, or N169.22 per litre, while the average freight rate coat (North-West Europe to West Africa) of about $21.63 per ton, or N6.51 per litre

Above is where the increment is coming from, except if we are demanding for the return of subsidy , there is not the government can do, else, there will be scarcity of PMS
How come the price of the commodity didn't crash when price was at it lowest at the world market?

I am a big fan of Buhari but he actions and inaction is surely against this nation. It is becoming very pathetic.

By 2023,stupid Nigerians will still vote for stupid people all in the name of tribe and religion
Igbos don't care if Okorocha or Orji Kalu become the president as long as it is from the East
Yorubas don't care if Osinbajo(a failure in disguise) or Tinubu becomes the president as long as it is from the East
Same with Atiku or Yayaha from the North

Una better do away with your ethnic stupidity and religous foolishness or else, poverty go kill us
I also advice any sensible man not to get married or carry too much responsibilities because this country na die o
As for me,I am currently saving 80% of all profit for my business, once my money is complete before the end of the year,I'm out of this rubbish country

We live in "insane climes".

Where prison guards release criminals to stop a protest.

Where "patriots" defend shooting and brutalizing
civilians.

Where bandits get paid cash rewards and are given amnesty while government critics dissappear.

Where people lick the ground their darling daddy steps on from their slums as if they are immune.

Truly an insane clime!

Even with the so called corruption, have you asked yourself how we were able to buy petrol at #64-97 naira under PDP, while barrel is being sold at $80-100 USD?

Because under the administration of no corruption, any increase in crude oil barrel price automatically leads to increase in pump price, even though they are still paying subsidy. grin cheesy cheesy

The sad part is we keep acting like this isn't affecting all of us. Most people income are not increasing and inflation is on the rise.

This administration is one lucky administration as they keep on getting away with the pain they are instilling on Nigerians.

THEY WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH IT!

I don't mean to be rude but your post is so stupid and ignorant. Probably representative of yourself.

Did you also consider the minimum wage in those countries
Do you realise we use fuel for everything not just cars.
In Nigeria you need fuel to run a business. To pump water in your house. To watch TV. Things you wouldn't need fuel for in the countries you listed.

Some people don't think before spewing rubbish. Then again maybe they don't have a functioning brain.

You nailed it.
We all know it will eventually come to this.
Even Pounds might still hit 1000naira to a pound. And over 500naira to a dollar.

Our govt don't see anything wrong in all these increments cos most of them get fuel allowance. Besides they believe other countries are paying more.

They do not factor in the dynamics between such countries and Nigeria.

Ghana for example has ensured that there's stable electricity which means you don't have to worry about fuel price for generators except you're a car owner. Also Ghana is not among OPEC.

Dubai and other countries which our govt likewise compare Nigeria to have stable electricity and alternative means of transport where the masses don't feel the impact of the fuel price.

Unlike Nigeria, where nothing works.
Only few locations have stable electricity.
The transport system is so bad that if you're not careful you'll spend more fuel driving through traffic.
God bless your mama, preach my brother preach. The painful part of it is that these are not on Nairaland. To see what their people are saying.

eyaa! You need to read more books o, cos it really shows. There is something called purchasing power parity, read about it small. They dont spend the worthless naira in those places. Find out also how much their own currencies are relative to the dollar, then juxtapose that with their minimum wage to see how much easier it will be for them to buy that 1litre, shey you get. All those countries, except benin republic, which is just another slum like nigeria (i used lower-case on purpose, they are that worthless)

Actually, most GEJites don't support deregulation, like most Bubuites....

And what the government is doing is partial removal of subsidy, like what previous governments have done in the past. No Nigerian government wants to do the needful and allow marketers and depot owners and refinery owners set the price of fuel....because it is not politcially popular.

But meanwhile sustaining subsidy is also hard...so partial removal...which is meant to please everyone but satisfies no one.
