Abbas Sanni's Gruesome Murder, One Murder, Too Many - Progressive Solidarity For by NwaorguF: 11:28am On Mar 12, 2021
Just as President Muhammadu Buhari penultimately pronounced his teams' efforts to finally nip in the bud the issue of insecurity in the country, a promising and talented young Nigerian bite the dust! It was the gruesome murder of Abass Sanni, an undergraduate student of the Nasarawa State University, Lafia. This has brought out the fire in a notable humanitarian organization, the Progressive Solidarity Forum, PSF, who condemned in its entirety this unwelcome annihilation of a glorious young man cut down in his twilight.

The Progressives Solidarity Forum (PSF) has expressed great concern over the gruesome murder of an undergraduate student of the Nasarawa State University in Lokoja, Kogi State penultimately.

Late Abbas Sanni had recently won an award in a rapping talent hunt in his university before he decided to visit his parent in Lokoja before the sad event occurred. Abbas was stabbed on 7th March 2021 in a mysterious circumstance and unfortunately passed on. He is the son of Mrs Rekiya Sanni, the Managing Director/CEO of Kogi Enterprise Development Agency and has since been buried according to Islamic rite.

Reacting to the incidence, PSF Grand Patron, Chief (Dr.) Ibrahim B. Emokpaire expressed shock over the killing of the young man. According to him, the killers of the promising boy must be brought to book, wondering why the nation's security system has become epileptic and could no longer be relied upon to safe lives and property. He expressed his condolences to the mother of the dead, Mrs Rekiya Sanni asking her to take solace in God as the only one who can comfort her in this trying period.

In the same vein, a former President of the forum, Prince Joseph Fadele has described the killing as most unfortunate. Fadele said, “incidences like this, will no doubt annihilate the country's blooming next generation”. Late Abbas was a promising young man who can turn things around for the better of the country, stressing that the time has come for our leaders to roll up their sleeves and tackle the degrading security network in the country.

On his part, the Chairman of the Progressives Solidarity Forum, Mr. Seun Baiyewu, has declared his forum's readiness to ensure the killers of Late Abbas Sanni are arrested and ensure that justice is served. According to Baiyewu, the killers must be arrested irrespective of whose horse is gored. “PSF will ensure that justice is served, we will do all within our powers to get to the roots of this ugly incidence.

Moreover, another chieftain of the forum, Mrs Norah Echenim who has been working with the family to unravel the death of late Abbas has promised to continue with her support until the killers are brought to book. “We won’t rest, this is very unfortunate, it is pathetic and saddening, we will work with every concerned organisation to ensure justice”, Echenim said.

“On behalf of PSF, I condole the family and friends of the late Abbas, we shall be ready to help if needed, Baiyewu said.

Efforts by our correspondent to confirm the incidents from the state police headquarters was unsuccessful.
