I saw a Video of Muslims and Christians throwing stones at each other today in Ilorin, Kwara state, due to the Hijab issue. Most unfortunate!

Preventing Muslim students from wearing the Hijab in schools is another form of extremism and fanatism.

Wearing the Hijab is a constitutionally guaranteed freedom that is above institutional rules of schools. The Nigerian constitution allowed Muslim students to wear the Hijab in schools. Denying them this right is acute intolerance.

A Muslim sister was recently denied wearing the Hijab in the Nigerian law school. She went to court and won. Precedent exists in this Law School Hijab case. Preventing a Muslim student from wearing the hijab in a missionary school infringes on that student’s rights.

Female police officers in Scotland that are Muslims are allowed to wear the Hijab. What is the percentage of Muslims in Scotland? Not up to 5%.

Christian Nuns in Roman Catholic Churches are wearing the Hijab, why prevent school children from doing so, we ask?

They should go to the muslim schools to wear their hijabs. What of if christians begin to wear their own choir uniforms to school or the traditionalists start wearing amulets and juju to school.

We have a long way to go in Nigeria. What constitutional right is always seen wrong whenever we perceived that it will not favour us.
Fighting over hijab when we have more pressing issue that are facing our Economy.

You are very wrong. Hijab should be allowed in Muslim and government public schools and not in Christian mission schools. You can't teach Christian religion knowledge in any Muslim school.

According to Section 38, Subsection 1 of the Nigerian Constitution (as amended in 2011), “Every person shall be entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion…(either alone or in community with others, and in public or in private) to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance”.

Reverend Sisters do not wear the hijab, they wear veils and do not allow hijab wearing in Catholic missionary schools they manage, there is uniformity in dressing for their students both females and males, a rule in their code of dressing parents are aware of before admission.

Missionary has handed it over to the state government in 1975

Handed over or forcefully taken over by the military government of the time?

Same was forcefully taken over by military government in Lagos which Tinubu returned back to the missionaries during his tenure. Return the schools to their original owners be it Muslim or Christian!

Pls don't use formalities to avoid truth. Hijab is an Islamic injunction on women and is part of modesty even in Christianity. Hijab just means cover. Those Muslims children didn't force themselves to those schools, they advertised for admission to everyone irrespective of religious background and they got admitted and pay school fees, Now why should they deprive them their fundamental right. Christians are shaming themselves when it comes to modesty just because they want to deviate from Muslims look.
We know what Christianity say abt modesty and u ppl are shamelessly demonstrating religious bigotry and fanaticism for unfounded reasons. Good Muslims don't walk naked like animals; we're created most intelligent, most beautiful, & so we should demonstrate it in our actions.
