This ipob miscreants just want to lead Edo people to their slaughter.

Edo own Lagos indeed grin both ipob and edo come and try and see
Igbos just want this Lagos sha, even by pushing edo people to wahala
All I see in the OP’s post is nothing but the hangover of two horribly dark events in the modern history of ndi-Igbos, namely:

(1) The Biafra ‘Genocide’.

(2) H. P. C.* Jonathan’s 2015 loss.

We, Yorubas, were instrumental to these two dark and horrible moments of their modern history.

Yet we are asking them not to be bitter (‘in peace’). I think we are asking them for too much.

We can’t beat them, and at the same time insist that they mustn’t cry.

We must choose one. We can’t have our cake and eat it.

Yes, their bitterness will fizzle out naturally over the course of a few ndi-Igbo generations to come.

But in the meantime, we must be Yorubas enough to allow them be bitter (‘in peace’).

In so far as it is practically impossible for them to rip our Lagos off of its Yoruba roots.

The aboriginal owners of all of Lagos (including its length and its breadth, its islands and its mainlands, its villages and its towns) are the Aworis.

Aworis are one of the over thirty (30) major Yoruba subgroups who admit in their traditional narrative to have sprung from the center of Yoruba civilization — Ile-Ife.

In the embedded video below, Awori monarchs from both Lagos state and Ogun state can be heard affirming this fact very loudly and very clearly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88-cG1nC8fM

Furthermore, contrary to the misrepresentation (falsely attributed to Oba Akiolu) by certain quack print-media sources some years back; Oba Akiolu (who is the king of Èkó (i.e. one of the islands in Lagos) declared emphatically in a video (interview with Channels TV) that:

Lagos does not belong to Benin kingdom.

Having said that, an independent and sovereign Yoruba nation is becoming increasingly inevitable as each day goes by. The processes have hit top gear lately. I won’t say much.

Cheers!

The race called IBOs will eventually be buried in Lagos and the children of Oodua will be justified by moral law and otherwise, because if you have a case where a group of people deliberately create and propagate their own version of truth due to their obsession and covetous urges for what belong to others. Trying to reason with such people is a waste of grey matter, it's very unfortunate that the only cure for such self-inflicted disorder is unprecedented violence. Anyway, that is the story of human civilization.
Unfortunately, you cant do us anything. We can match your violence with greater madness.

We still have Yoruboid groups in Edo including Benin itself. Also Itsekiri in delta, our blood is the Olu of Warri ahead of others in Warri city.

We don't claim those lands except they come to us which they will naturally do if and when Nigeria splits.

Omo Olofin?
Please tell me which region/tribe.
I am proudly Yoruba, obviously. [No offence to non-Yorubas]. smiley

Awori descendants of Lagos (and Ogun) love to fondly remind ourselves that we’re Omo Olofin.

A Brief Historical Note:
Oduduwa was the first Olofin of the Ife country; and his base was in the country’s capital city — Ile-Ife.

His earliest descendants established kingdoms at far and near places within and outside the Ife country —e.g. Lagos.

Some of these kingdoms founded by his earliest descendants adopted and have retained the same title — Olofin.

The first and principal kingdom of all Aworis (which is based in Lagos till date) adopted this title and has retained it till date.

The word “Alaafin” is a dialectal variation of the word “Olofin”. They mean exactly one and the same thing.

Some Yoruba kingdoms (in parts of present-day Kogi state) use the dialectal variation “Alaofin” which are all the same.

In sum then, all kingdoms descended from Oduduwa are ruled and inhabited by persons who identify as Omo Olofin.

However, some persons have identified as such more loudly than others. The Aworis appear to be the loudest in this regard.

Some honorable mentions who have loudly identified as Omo Olofin are, in no particular order, as follows:

The Olofin of Isheri-Olofin (the principal monarch of all Aworis); the Oni-Igando of Igando; the Olu of Ikeja; the Olu-Mushin of Mushin; the Osolo of Isolo; the Elegbe of Egbe; the Oni-Iba of Iba; the Oloto of Oto-Awori; the Oni-Ijanikin of Ijanikin; the Oni-Igbesa of Igbesa; the Oni-Itire of Itire-Awori; the Olubeshe of Ibeshe (Ikorodu); the Ofori of Ibeshe (Amuwo-Ododfin); the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi; the Olota of Ota; the Ajalaye of Ipetu-Ijesha; the Deji of Akure; and the Ooni of Ife among several others too innumerable for me to recall.

I personally don’t feel safe divulging my ‘deep personal sensitive information’ on the internet — except when I must do so.

I can imagine someone (who knows me) connecting all the relevant dots from my comments to pinpoint who I actually am.

I feel it’s almost like doxing myself, and I actually don’t feel comfortable with that. Apologies!

The most I may say is that I am a Lagos indigene with a mixed ancestry of Awori and Ijebu-Remo (among others of course).

Good to know sir.

Coming from Magbon-Alade (in the Ibeju-Lekki area), I would guess you also have Awori-Ijebu mixed ancestry as I.

Oh, I was at the Iberekodo some 13 years ago. I love the serene environment. I mostly enjoyed the beach and the fresh fish. grin

I also visited a neighboring town in the area (can’t recall the name now) where Chief Awolowo was said to have been incarcerated.

TAO some ungrateful troublemakers whose ancestors invaded Lagos in search of food to eat are now claiming that the same Lagos that gave them succour in their greatest hours of need now belongs to Benin and that Aworis are not Yorubas

As an Awori what is your take on this ?
So TAO that claimed Ijebu is now Awori?

Deceive una self not us.

Can you tell me the meaning of that same Awori and the history surrounding it and how the name was formed?
Aworis are Aworis not Yoruba.

Yoruba media is only deceiving the gullible ones among them to force yorubaness down their throat

Ekiti are not Yorubas
Akoko are not Yorubas
Ilaje are not Yorubas
Ikale are not Yorubas
Egba are not Yorubas
Yewa are not Yorubas
Okun are not Yorubas
Owu are not Yorubas
Awori are not Yorubas
Egun are not Yorubas
Ijebu are not Yorubas

Etc

Who then is a Yoruba? The instance you people know that Yoruba are bigger than you the better.

For educational sake (excluding Igbos cos they hate education). Yoruba empire (ethnic) is made up of several sub-groups working together as one.

Unlike Anambra Igbo talking down on Enugu or abakali Igbo, we don't fight supremacy battle within ourselves.... And everyone have what they contribute to the progress of Yoruba race... That is why we are blessed and prosperous even among the thorns we surround ourselves with from north and east.
