A lot of people become uncomfortable and distressed whenever anything that has to do with death comes near. It is understandable. For, humanity was never originally destined to know and experience death. So death is an aberration in our affair. Death was brought alive by sin, and is still being empowered by sin till this moment. By and by, it became an amiable tool in the hand of the evil devil to afflict humanity. Indeed, death remained a tormentor of humanity.

Death crept into our scene as our first parents - Adam and Eve, sinned against God by disobeying His loving instructions in the Garden of Eden. Humanity ignorantly cut itself away from its Source - God. This is spiritual death. And so, a person might still be breathing on earth, but is already dead, if he/she is separated from God. When a fish separates itself from water, it dies

Sin brings about separation between man and God. Sin brings death. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). A human going contrary to the Will of God, indulging in sinful activities (stealing, fornication, lying, etc) is spiritually dead already, as a sinful person can't walk with the Holy God and Creator.

Of course, sin has the capability to also send people to their early grave. A fornicator or adulterer who picked a deadly sexual virus; a murderer sentenced by the court to death; an abortionist who died during the process; a drunkard who slammed his car into a ditch while returning from the club; etc.

However, you don't have to be scared of death, for you can live above death... You don't have to be a slave to the torments of death, as you can be free from death. How? Because GOD in His infinite mercies already made provisions for that. 

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"[/b]John 3:16.

So, GOD showed us mercy by deciding to come to the earth in the flesh to condemn and judge sin and death, and He offered Himself as a sacrifice to justify the righteous requirements. And when JESUS resurrected on the third day by the power of the Holy Ghost, He disgraced death and made death a weakling.

Today, when you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He empowers you with the Holy Ghost, and you live above sin and death. You are alive indeed, as you maintain a spiritual walk with God the Father. The Bible says, [b]"For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." (Romans 8:6)

You are not afraid of death, for you hold on to the promises of GOD for long life (scripture says you shall not die but live to proclaim the goodness of God in the land of the living - Psalm 118:17)

You are not tormented by the fear of death, for you are aware that death will only be a mere vehicle that will transport you to the presence of God your Father in Heaven.

As you engage with the eternal life deposited in you when you accepted Jesus Christ (particularly via the platforms of long prayers in your secret place, fasting and studying the Bible regularly), it becomes obvious that this earth is not only temporal, but that it can't offer the kind of pleasantness awaiting us in Heaven. Being conscious of this truth every moment will help you walk circumspectly in righteousness, avoiding immoral and sinful stuff that opens the door for death in the first place.

It all starts with surrendering your life to Jesus Christ and embracing Him as your LORD and Savior (the wisest decision you will ever make).  Anywhere you are, simply ask Jesus to show you mercy, and embrace Him as LORD and Savior. It is well with you in Jesus Name Amen
