ABUJA- The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has condemned the broad daylight attempt to cut short the life of the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom, describing the news as shocking and a rude awakening.

Governor Ortom narrated how he escaped an attempt on his life by gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, who attacked him on his farm Saturday.

But, reacting to the unfortunate incident, Governor Kayode Fayemi Governor of Ekiti and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, in a statement, said the Forum vehemently condemns the act in its entirety.


The statement entitled ‘Attempt On Governor Ortom’s Life’ which was personally signed by Fayemi, also described the act as cowardly, and wicked.

Was it actually a targeted assassination attempt on the governor?
That's what the average citizens faces on the highway in a daily basis.
The condemnable, if it happens to a governor, makes it a serious issue that needs urgent attention

Keep Condemning, don't face the Leadership of the nation , speak out bodly and take actions against the killers. Gradually, it will get to you all.

Let such attempts continue jare. It is high-time these leaders face what we have been facing

Even if na una de send assassins to one another in guise of herdsmen it’s still a good thing. It shows that even your own life is not safe. Sooner or later all our politicians will be governing us from foreign offices.
