Grace of God Mission (GGM) Pastor Still Missing

More than 42 days after the disappearance of GGM's pastor Ikenna Kevin Nnadi filtered in doubtfully, he is yet to be seen by his family. All the Pastors and church members connected to this are on the run, avoiding assisting the police and his family to find Ikenna.

He went for a church meeting at Utchi Ugboma, in Ndokwa East LGA of Delta State on the 3rd of February 2021. Subsequently, text messages were sent to Ikenna's elder brother that the boat he was traveling in with other church members capsized and of the 8 occupants of the speed boat only him has been missing. All effort by his family to ascertain from the GGM what exactly happened to Ikenna remained fruitless. He has been in that area for little over six years, pastoring.

Ọkpai community is a difficult terrain to access and live in. This made the missing Pastor adopt the following measures;
1. Moved his family out of Ọkpai.
2. Always called his wife whenever he is leaving home, when he got to his destination, when he left his destination and when he got home.

On the 3rd of February, he only called his wife when they were leaving for the church meeting to Utchi Ugboma, Ndokwa East, Delta State, but no other call till date.

Since 3rd of February, the GGM never reported this incident to the police nor reached out to the family beyond text messages by an Ọkpai church member.

Given all the above circumstances, the family had no other reasonable option than to brave it to Ọkpai on the 10th February in search of Ikenna. The family also reported the incident to Ashaka police Division.

Two Deacons of GGM, who went to the meeting with him were taken to the police. One of the Deacons, on sighting the security vehicle ran into the bush. Unfortunately, he stumbled and fell, this gave the security personnel opportunity to catch up with him in the bush.

The purported narrative is:
8 persons were in speed boat that capsized. Seven, including 3 women, were rescued, but pastor Ikenna was neither rescued nor his body recovered.

The community and the church agreed not to report to the police. The family of the missing pastor, after seven days, reported the matter to Ashaka police Division, being the closest to Ọkpai. The community and the church have been angry with and threatening the family for reporting the matter to the police. They have been mounting pressure on the family to withdraw the case from the police. This compelled the family to cry out to the Inspector General of Nigeria Police.

In the light of the level of the GGM's interest in finding pastor Ikenna and the helplessness of the affected family, the family is also crying out to the public to join us in asking the church as well as the police to unravel the mystery surrounding the missing Ikenna Kevin Nnadi, and to rescue him or recover his body.

The founder of the church is a man of huge means and connection together with the massive network of his church. We appealed to them to use these massive means and network to find Ikenna, but they are more concerned with intimidating the family into grave silence. The public and the police remain the last resort of the family of the missing pastor.

On the 10th of February, 2021, the family reported the matter to the Divisional police post, Ashaka, Ndokwa East, Delta State. And through the help of the Vigilante, the two members of the Church that went to the meeting with him were arrested. Ọkpai is a difficult terrain for the police as the community usually resist arrest violently, officers have lost their lives there.

Subsequently, the boat driver and the Pastor that called the meeting at Utchi were also taken into custody at Ashaka police Division.

The Divisional Police Officer of Ashaka approved the transfer of the matter to the State CID, Asaba on the 23rd February, 2021. On the 24th, the suspects were moved to the State CID. On the same day, the owner of GGM, Dr. Paul Nwachukwu called the family of Ikenna Nnadi. Like his son who called earlier, he was not concerned about his Pastor that has been missing for 3 weeks now. He was worried and expressed his strong displeasure why the family reported the matter to the police. This reinforced the family's resolve to seek stronger police intervention, and believed therefore that moving the case to the State CID Asaba was the right thing.

The situation the family of Ikenna met at the State CID, Asaba indicated less to be desired, hence the family intensified their effort for Inspector General (IG) of Police to intervene and take over the matter. On the 10th of March, 2021, a team from Abuja came to take over the matter. To everyone's disappointment, the suspects have been released and up till now, 14th March, the State CID, Asaba has not been able to get the suspects. It was also discovered that no further investigation has been carried out before releasing them.

Neither the church nor the community/boat owner/driver, reported to the police about the missing Pastor until the family sensing there is more to it and reported to the police after 7 days of the incident. Thus has the coloration of conspiratorial murder. Yet the State CID was comfortable releasing the suspects without further ado.

Join us in asking Dr Paul Nwachukwu and the Grace of God Mission International to return Mr. Ikenna Kevin Nnadi to his family without further drama.

In addition, the G.O of the church went to Benin as Zonal Police Headquarters of Delta to put up counter petition, not knowing that the family of the man already went to Abuja. The same G.O when they held his Asaba Zonal Pastor, told them that he thought the matter has been resolved. He was thinking that Benin has taken care of it. This pastor missing has been ordained as the church pastor since 2013.

We also plead with you to support in effectively asking the Nigeria Police to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Ikenna Nnadi since 3rd of February 2021. Thank you so very much!

This same church Pastors have been doing everything possible to shut the family.

Like how can your pastor be missing, all you do is trying to cover up the mess, bribing police to release the suspects? You don't even care about the family of the man in question.

He went to church meeting. You didn't report to the family or police about his whereabout. It was when the family was making inquiries you were asking them if the man was missing? What kind of negligence is this. Or can I say, conspiratorial arrangement.

This church knows exactly what happened to this man. Is he dead? Is he alive? You guys have been quiet. You have been busy trying to intimidate his family members. Wicked fools.
