Job Seekers, Is This A Red Flag? Kidnappers Alert! by YourBestWriter: 6:30pm On Mar 25
So I applied for a job online, and then after a few days I received a mail that I have been scheduled for a phone conversation. Soon after that, I received a phone call from a private number. The guy spoke fluent English like he's from the U.K. Although, the conversation went well. However, he said he was going to get back to me.

Weeks passed and I received a phone call from a private number. It was the guy telling me he was going to send me an email invitation for an interview. I saw the email, and I pasted the content below. Please analyse this email very well. I think these guys are ritualists. All these while, I don't even know the name of the company. The entire conversation has been hidden with a private number. what are they hiding?

What a poor gimmick

This is more than a red flag.. first of all, how do you apply for a job you don't know the name of the company??

Who schedules an interview in a hotel??
Why have they chosen not to disclose their identities??
Why have they been calling you with a private number??

something fishy

If you ask me.. I'd say run for life before you get hypnotized into some deep shit

YES!!! Even online employers will conduct themselves better.
Red Flags
No company name or specific and established contact us address....

With unknown number?
I wonder....@how someone will still think it's safe to still go? What kind of organization does that?
unless you just posted a half info of what the whole scenario was/Is.
As an Online Earnings advocate ill suggest you go for some knowledge or activities online that will see to you earning online like others that do $30 - $300 daily legal earnings from their various online activities!
This goes to all young people that can access the internet via their android phone, tablets or PCs if you ain't using it to earn online then it's your own undoing!!!

Just getting to the front page after 2 weeks plus?
Anyway the advice is not needed again. I'm sure the guy would have followed his mind.

BTW, if it's me I'll run as fast as I can. The email ain't even official enough.
Good luck to him

Feel free to ask for a drink during interview... grin grin

They want to lace you drink and take you to the slaughter chamber, my guy, run for your life.
The implication is that even if you don't ask for the drink, they will offer it to you themselves and ask you to drink.
From the whole write up, you can smell what they are cooking and it's not a delicious meal at all.
Pls flee from them.
By the way you applied for a job and you don't even know the name of the company, how do you then research on the company to know more about them, if they owe their staff, if they can offer you a career growth, etc...una dey try sha.

No legit company would call you with a private line. They want you to be as transparent as they are, before hiring you. Most of the employers would prefer hiding their identity at first, to hiding their phone number they're calling you with. I recall the though aptitude test I wrote years back at UNILAG , organised by a renowned telecom company in Nigeria with a letter 'M' forming part of their name, i didn't know it was this company until after the aptitude tests organjsed in 2 phasers were concluded and scores announced and a few of us, who scaled through, out of over 400 applicants shortlisted from across the country were asked to wait to obtain a date for an in-person oral interview . This is how it should be.

Do a fraud check on Google with the email address used in reaching you.

Seems genuine. Airport hotel sound safe. You could have visited the place and see what they have to offer. A lot of organizations will hide their details for so many reasons.

One needs to be extra careful with these guys o.
Guys are harvesting private parts, kidney, liver and other important organs.
Apply for jobs in organizations you know and see, not all these online ritualists.

Check the sender of the mail.
What's the name of the company? Check if it's registered under CAC.
Does it has an online presence? if yes do a background check.

As for the mail. personally it's a red flag for me.

1. date is past
2. Not articulate
3. Invitation asking you to meet someone else
4. Offering you a drink already
5. Venue a lounge
6. Private number calling you.
