For some time now , I've been following a TV series known as "American gods", it about a shadow war fought by two groups of gods known as the old gods and the new gods and a man named shadow moon who gets caught in the middle of the war. The old gods include modern day version of ancient God's worshipped by many cultures throughout history including Odin, Thoth, Anubis ,Anansi etc and the new gods are actually personified representations of aspects of modern Life which include god of technology, god of media and their leader known as Mr world who is probably a representation of the modern world.

it's actually on it's 3rd season which just ended recently, I heard the show has been cancelled so they won't be a fourth season even though the series ended in a cliffhanger.
