THE TELESCOPE AND MICROSCOPE MENTALITY TO ACHIEVING SUCCESS WITH ANYTHING

To achieve success with anything you undertake, you need both the telescope and microscope mentality in combination

To understand this, we need to look at the functions of both the telescope and the microscope

The telescope functions to bring a distant object closer, so you could have a clear picture of what it is, while the microscope enlarges or magnifies very tiny objects you cannot see or see properly with the eyes , so again you could also have a clear picture of what it is

Both gives clarity, important Clarity needed to succeed with anything

Every endeavor undertaken should involve both a telescope and a microscope phase

In the telescope phase, you are trying to bring the future closer, to have a clear picture and determine what that future would look like

To do this, you ask questions like

What would you want the future of a thing, your life or any endeavor to look like 5 years from now?

What would you want to see, what would you want to hear, what would you want to feel?

This future you are bringing close, using your mental telescope, what would an ideal of such a future look like, what would a good, a poor or even a disaster of such a future look like?

It is important you describe and write this down for yourself, as this is an important ingredient or input to the microscope phase

Next, the microscope phase

In the microscope phase, you take a close look at your present in detail, and ask yourself

What trajectory are you on right now? Are you on a journey to your ideal future or a journey to your good, poor or even disaster future as you have described?

What decisions do you have to make, or what actions should you be taking, or who do you have to be or what beliefs do you have to change, or what do you have to learn to ensure you are on the trajectory to your ideal or desired future?

Make that decision, take the action determined, and make the changes required

Then constantly review progress periodically
