And that something was preeminent for all of human history as you claim doesn't mean that it is right and just. Human societies evolve. Men historically being providers does not mean that women should be subordinate to men today. It means that for most of human history, male-dominated societies discouraged women from productive work to be child rearers and home makers. Not because women were somehow lazy and only men wanted to do the work.
