Why Pantami NIN-SIM Will Fail... by Oyerinde16(m): 10:52pm On Apr 12, 2021
Recently, the honourable minister of communication and digital economy introduced a mandatory NIN-SIM linkage. The honourable minister went further to state categorically, failure to link your NIN to your SIM would attract a SIM blockage and even a jail term.

While some Nigerians took it serious, Most Nigerians took it with a pint of salt and has glaringly refused to link the NIN-SIM despite the fact some have the NIN.

REASONS WHY THE NIN-SIM WILL LIKELY FAIL.

1* UNGOVERNED TERRITORIES- Nigeria has up to 50% of it landmass ungoverned, with no Network, No light, No police presence yet some people reside there, this set of people have SIMs they use to make calls when they visit the nearby towns and go back, they are not in touch with realities and most likely don't know what is happening in Nigeria.

2* ILLITERATES- The illiterates among us constitute a large chunk of the masses and they really don't care about the registration, all they care about is make and receive calls in local dialects, only pantami is talking to himself to this set of people.

3* AGED- We have roughly 10% aged population that can barely walk or bother themselves with any stress of lining up to capture a NIN, they would prefer to dump the sim than go through the stress, its their children in the cities that forced the sim on them in the first instance.

4* SICK- There are are about 1% of the population battling one serious ailment or the other, they don't have the time or strength to go line up, they would rather dump the sim and get another one later when they are better.

5* WEAK INFRASTRUCTURE- One of the biggest obstacles is weak or very poor infrastructure, the NIMC lacks the capacity to capture over 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million) Nigerians, NIMC are often overwhelmed when jamb students besieged their office talk of 150m+ Nigerians withing the short time frame.

6* CORE NORTH- The core north will most likely suffer the most, as most core northern women do not go out, the registration cannot be done by proxy, most phone users on the core north are contented with making and receiving calls anything outside that will most likely mean they dump the line.

7* DIASPORA- There are Nigerians in diaspora who still retain their lines, they infact roam their lines abroad, they are not coming home anytime soon, how does the honorable minister wants them to come home because of NIN registration. They may attempt a registration if our foreign missions abroad can do it, however we do not have the infrastructure yet.

8* FOREIGN NATIONALS- NIN is meant for only NATIONALS (Nigerians) and not for foreigners, however, the honorable minister wants foreign nationals to register for NIN then indicate foreign nationals just to link it with a SIM, this will most likely be subject to constitutional checks, reviews and interpretation

9* CONSTITUTIONALITY- The SIM card, is a property of the network going by the T$Cs, unlike the BVN where u needed to create one and link all bank accounts, it was done by the banks and it took over a year, the NIN-SIM is to be done by the user and it's less than 6 months deadline with multiple threats of jail terms.

10* STUBBORNNESS- Some Nigerians are just stubborn, despite the fact they have the NIN, they have deliberately decided not to link it to their SIMs they want to see how the honorable minister will block the lines before they call for his head.

Kidnapper use the phone of their victim to call, I advise federal government to create a colomn for voice in our national database, so that, if kidnapper call, take his or her voice code to the system login by doing this you can easily get them .. but with parameter for our current database it will fail

Secondly , make forensic department in Nigeria police strong, so that finger print can easily be taken.

Is fucking useless, kidnappers will buy phones in NIGER, CHAD, CAMEROON, TOGO, GHANA and roam the lines in Nigeria. How do u intend to beat that...
