Management Of Dangote Group Deny Increment Of Prices by gistongist: 10:59am On Apr 13, 2021 |
Dangote Cement Plc’s management, lamenting the misinformation in some quarters, denied any price rise yesterday, clarifying that the commodity from its factories and plants nationwide sells for N2,450 in Obajana and Gboko, and N2,510 in Ibese, inclusive of value-added tax (VAT). The clarification came after recent allegations that it was selling cement in Nigeria at a significantly higher price than in other countries, especially Ghana and Zambia, according to the company. Devakumar Edwin, Dangote’s Group Executive Director, Strategy, Portfolio Development & Capital Projects, clarified that a bag of cement costs $5.1 in Nigeria, including VAT, but $7.2 in Ghana and $5.95 in Zambia ex-factory, taxes included. He explained that while the company had direct control over its ex-factory costs, it couldn’t affect the product’s pricing until it reached the market. source:https://gistongist.com/management-of-dangote-group-deny-increment-of-prices/
