13th April, 2021 Gombe state male Basketball team has won gold medal in the ongoing national Sports festival in Edo state after defeating their Lagos State counterparts by 57-49 in the final game of the event held on Monday 12th April, 2021. The Coach Abdurrahman Mohammed's Boys began their gold medal campaign by beating team Kano 66-59 in their opener, then defeated the host, team Edo by 68-60 in their 2nd game and thrashed team Kwara by 76-56 before eliminating their Lagos state counterparts in the finals to maintain a hundred percent unbeaten record. Meanwhile, other contingents representing the state led by the Chairman Gombe state Sports Commission Hamza Adamu Soye are currently in Edo participating in various games to make Gombe proud as we await developments in other games from our sports Correspondent from Benin City

I think some of this boys deserve a place in our national basketball squad but cafa and padi padi no go allow them..
