Job Title: Accountant

Our Client an Agricultural Firm in Lagos looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax, pension, and legal regulations.


Responsibilities
• Manage all internal and external accounting transactions on behalf of the company;
• Prepare internal budget spending and forecasts future needs and expenditure;
• Publish financial statements in time and according to legal regulations;
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings in a prompt and timely manner;
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable;
• Ensure timely bank payments are made and receipts and tellers are kept and filed;
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns in accordance with set legal regulations;
• Manage payroll and ensure that all mandatory deductions are made and are well accounted for;
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements;
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity as at when required;
• Audit financial transactions and documents;
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary;
• Comply with financial policies and regulations;

Salary: ₦150,000 - ₦170,000
