Emefiele justifies CBN printing more money to finance Nigeria - News Report

The Governor of Delta state, @IAOkowa, was the first person that alerted Nigerians that the Buhari regime printed N60 billion in March to finance Nigeria.

The minister of finance came out and rejected it. The Governor insisted on what he said. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor has now buttressed what the Governor said.

The illiterate barbarian in Aso Rock presidential villa think printing more money will revamp the dead economy. Buhari did not know the difference between the High School subjects of Economics and Financial Accounting.

How much will the dementia mannequin #Buhari ask Emefiele to print this month?

Nonsense.as a politician,he is no more a professional but a liar.if he does not want to spill it in public,he should not have said so originally.if he was right, people like wike would have supported him...
The minister of finance has no business with money printing,it is from the CBN and the CBN does it through the Nigerian security and minting press.this is a long process, obaseki cannot be privy to this.he gave no iota of evidence and in the absence of any evidence,he is a liar.

It is no different in effect from printing money .

Let us not try to use big words to conflate issues or try to sound knowledgeable by using phrases common people cannot understand

Whether it is new is not the point. The question is whether it is appropriate in our circumstances and also whether the government is transparent about it
The government has DENIED IT so that is the first step here

Is it true or not

Be specific what you mean by "those economies"

Black people getting killed by police in America is NOTHING NEW
That does not make it right or desirable

It is nothing new. Even when you explain in layman words, people still don't understand it. Bismark Rewane explained it. Physical cash in circulation (about N2.5 trillion) is negligible compared with total money in the economy (about N38 trillion). There was no physical money printing as alleged.

Govt may be issuing money without investment instrument backing it and that is the fiscal rescality Gov Obaseki may be referring to. However, it is nowhere near crisis level yet but can get there if not watched. In that light, both Gov Obaseki and Minister of Finance are right in what they have said.

I suspect egos playing out here. Gov Obaseki, being a member of the National Economic Council could have picked his words carefully so as not to send wrong signals and further deflate an already struggling economy. Reason why Central Bankers and those in charge of the economy don't say certain things. Even if right, it may shock ordinary citizens and the economy, damaging it even more.

The fact that majority of the people do not understand how things work, it is better not to be careless about what is said when managing the economy.

I did not read the remark as necessarily meaning the physical printing of naira notes.
I do not believe that is what was meant
Anyway my position is neutral. I simply do not have the facts of what did or did not happen and I have no spoken to that anywhere
They both cannot be right
A specific figure of 60 billion was mentioned whether or not it is crisis level is a completely different issue
What is the 60 billion story? That is what needs substantiation
Sorry but CBN is not CIA it MUST be transparent
I agree Obaseki should have chosen his words carefully and having said it now the onus is on him to substantiate

There might be no evidence to show from Obaseki's end but the government didn't respond appropriately to his claims.

His information would definitely be from his sources and you don't expect him to mention names.

However, going through the track record of this government, this allegation is weighty and is something every Nigerian ought to get the real truth
