Boiling The Egg


a) Boil the Eggs in Hot Boiling Water

Put water on the fire and bring to a boil. Remove the eggs from the fridge and put right inside the boiling water.

b) Add Baking Soda or Vinegar

Add a teaspoon of Baking Soda or Vinegar into the boiling water and allow to boil for 10 to 15 minutes.


Using these techniques, you will get hard-boiled eggs that are easy to peel. When you put egg inside boiling water, the heat shock detaches the film from the shell, making it easier to peel off.
Also, adding baking soda to the water increases the alkaline levels in the water, which allows the egg white to loosen from inside of the shell.


c) Another way to boil eggs is to break the raw eggs then boil. You won’t have to go through with peeling off the shell. This technique was reported on Food NDTV for going viral after the hack was shared by a Facebook user named Peggy.

To do this, you have to:
1. Grease a heat-proof bowl with oil
2. Break the egg(s) inside the bowl. Do not mix
3. Place the bowl in a pot filled with water and cover it
4. Put it on the fire to cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.

With this method, you will get a large hard-boiled egg loaf. Well, depending on the number of eggs used. You do not need to place it in cold water to cool or peel off any shell. This hack comes in very handy if you have to chopping eggs for your salad or sandwich toast.


Peeling The Eggs

a) Put The Eggs in Ice-cold Water After Boiling
Set a bowl of ice-cold water or just cool tap water and put the eggs inside immediately after boiling. The cool water will help to stop the cooking inside the egg.

b) Another way to peel the egg shell off easily is to crack the bottom of the egg a little, before letting it sit in the bowl of cold water.

c) Another Hack for an easy-peel hard-boiled egg found:

1. Boil an egg hard
2. Fill a glass cup with cold water and put the hot hard-boiled egg inside
3. Cover the glass with your hand or any saucer and shake it vigorously. Make sure the
egg hits the sides of the glass.
4. This will shock the egg, making it crack and release from its shell

Now, this hack works pretty well when you are having just one hard-boiled egg. But if you like your egg soft and half-cooked, this hack will not work for you. And if you have to boil a dozen eggs to chop, then it’s more likely you would want to try out the other hacks mentioned above.
