BRADEC stands for -Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Edo and Cross River States.

Bupa is a Pan South South Socio Cultural Organization, the voice of the people of the South South.


AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF BUPA

1. to serve as a forum for the strategic articulation of our common cultural, social and economic aspirations of the peoples of the south-south geo- political zone

2. to serve as a platform for the promotion of unity, peaceful coexistence and well being of the zone

3. seek to create and sustain a democratic environment that guarantees the pursuit and attainment of happiness for the society

4. to promote sustainable growth and development through environmental protection, education, infrastructural development and economic empowerment of all the peoples of the zone

5. to promote the creation of a safe and secure work environment where peoples’ lives and liberty are held sacred and healthy living of the peoples of south south region and the nigerian youths, aged and less privileged in the society are guaranteed

6. to promote sustainable development through environmental awareness , education, infra and super structural development, protection and preservation of our heritage

7. to promote the entrepreneurship for our youth, women, old and less privileged persons by organized information dissemination, mobilization, sensitization via seminars, workshops, symposia, colloquiums, lectures, etc, on the need to be safe employed and enhance well being or welfare

8. to promote the printing and publishing of information materials including use of the mass media channels such as television, newspapers, periodicals, books, leaflets, electronic platforms , literature of any description, as the forum may deem necessary, fit and proper for public information promotion as the forum desires to reach the peoples of the zone as well as advance knowledge of our civilization

These principles shall therefore form the focal point of all decisions, policies and matters affecting BUPA.

#JoinBUPAToday-Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA) shall, through sustained awareness, campaigns and education, awaken the consciousness of the peoples of the south south to the beauty of ethnic harmony, its potentials for regional mobilization and citizens emancipation.

#JoinBUPAToday-Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), shall be the expression of the collective will of the people of the South –South Geopolitical Zone. It shall work towards transcending individuals, States, Sectional, Ethnic, Clannish, Religious, Political and Partisan interests howsoever described and categorised.

#JoinBUPAToday-There shall be a Youth Wing of the Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA). The Youth Wing shall be supervised and administered by the Youth Wing leader who reports directly to the National Chairman of BUPA National Executive Council.

#JoinBUPAToday-The Youth Wing shall operate at the Ward, Local Government Area, State and zonal levels. The Youth Wing shall arouse and encourage consciousness and unity amongst the youths of the South South zone.

#JoinBUPAToday-The Youth Wing shall strive and work for educational, moral and cultural advancement of the Youths from the South South zone.

#JoinBUPAToday-The principle of equity and equality of States and geographical spread shall be applied in the composition and distribution of offices at all Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA)’s levels, in order to promote and ensure a sense of belonging for the people of the south south region.

#JoinBUPAToday-Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), shall establish a Secretariat in the South South Zone of Nigeria which shall be the Headquarters, with a liaison office in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria and such other branch offices as the National Executive Council may approve.

#JoinBUPAToday-The Women Wing of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), shall promote South South women’s participation in every sector of public life and to strive for women’s participation in every offices.

#JoinBUPAToday-There shall be the “Elders Council” for Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), which shall consist of:
(a)​ all serving past Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the South South geopolitical zone who hold or held their respective posts as members of BUPA; are above 65-years old and who are still BUPA financial members.

BUPA’s Elders Council shall also consist of
(b) all serving and past Governors and Deputy Governors of the states in the South South Zone who are 65-years old and above and are BUPA’s financial members.

(c)-all serving and past members of the National Assembly, who are 65-years old and above and are still financial members of BUPA.

(d)-​all serving and former Ministers, Special Advisers to the President at the Federal levels and Commissioners, Special Advisers to the Governors at the state level from the south south zone who are 65-years old and above and are financial members of BUPA.

(e)-all serving and past members of BUPA National Executive Council who are 65-years old and above and are financial members.

(f)-all serving and former principal officers of the State Houses of Assembly in the south south zone who are 65-years old and above and are financial members of BUPA

(g)​-all BUPA’s serving and former State Chairmen who are 65-years old and above and are financial members

(h)​- all serving Chairmen/Chief Executives of Federal, State Boards, Parastatals and Agencies of Government of South South extraction and are financial members of BUPA.

(i)​-all Illustrious sons and daughters of the South South region who have made their mark in the academia, industry, captains of industry and private sector of the Nigerian economy; are 65-years old and above and are financial members.

(j)​-all serving and retired public officers who are 65-years old and above, and have held senior positions in their chosen career.

(k)​-all three financial elders from each Senatorial District who are 65-years old and above.

(l)​-all three women from each Senatorial District who are financial members and 65-years old and above.

#JoinBUPAToday-Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), is a non-partisan organization, created for the purpose of but not limited to protecting and promoting the common interest and pursuit of peace, unity, overall development, well-being and economic transformation of the people of the South South region.

#JoinBUPAToday-One of the major objectives of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), is to protect the interest of the people of South South region on the basis of equality, freedom, equity and justice, and to take our rightful place in the Nigerian nation through the pursuit of the principles of true federalism and egalitarianism.

#JoinBUPAToday-The National Executive Council (NEC) of Bradec United Peoples Assembly-The Executive Council shall formulate policy and supervise the affairs of BUPA.

#JoinBUPAToday- The NEC shall direct the opening of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA)’s bank account and appoint its signatories who shall be the National Chairman, National Financial Secretary and National Treasurer or any two of the three of them.

#JoinBUPAToday-The NEC of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), shall receive and consider feedback on the utilisation of grants, scholarship etc, advance by BUPA.

#JoinBUPAToday-The NEC of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), ​shall examine the merit and demerits of application for grants, and to take appropriate action on the application.

#JoinBUPAToday-There shall be a Board of Trustees (BOT) for Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA), which shall consist of:
a. All past and serving Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the South South geo-political zone.

#JoinBUPAToday-The BOT of Bradec United Peoples Assembly shall consist of: b. All past and serving Governors of the six States in the zone who are financial members of BUPA.

#JoinBUPAToday- BUPA BOT- c. All Past and serving Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen and Secretaries of Bradec United Peoples Assembly, who are still financial members.

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- d. All past and serving Presidents of the Senate and Speakers of the House of Representatives who are from the South South geo-political zone and are still financial members of Bradec United Peoples Assembly.

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- e. All founding members of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA) as defined in the Constitution of BUPA.

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- f. Three (3) women selected from each of the six states in the south south geo-political zones

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- g. Person(s) not exceeding six, who have contributed immensely to the growth of BUPA and found suitable by the Board, provided that the Board shall comprise equal number of representatives from each state not exceeding 15 in number.

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- h. Serving Chairmen/Chief Executives of Federal, State Boards, Parastatals and Agencies of Government of South South extraction and are financial members of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA).

#JoinBUPAToday-BUPA BOT- I. Illustrious sons and daughters of the South South region who have made their mark in the academia, industry and private sector of the Nigerian economy and are financial members of Bradec United Peoples Assembly (BUPA).

I'm happy how these people woke up from their slumber. They should put their people, states, zone and their development as their priority and believe me nobody can match their progress especially if they ensure peace to reign in their states.

I always laugh when I see these groups, or people, who come up and say they want to unite the so called Niger Delta. I wonder how they intend to do that? How do unite several ethnic groups who speak different languages, have different cultures, have no common borders?

It will be interesting to see how this will be done
