YOU CAN BE LED BY THE SPIRIT

Romans 8:14-17, NLT
14. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

15. So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves. You should behave instead like God's very own children, adopted into his family—calling him "Father, dear Father."

16 For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we are God's children.

17. And since we are his children, we will share his treasures—for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

For many Christians, being led by the Holy spirit is for pastors and some special Christians. They have either never expected to be led by the Spirit or have given up on any such expectations. They only use their senses in making the choices and decisions of their daily lives, but as we can see from our text, being led by Holy spirit is an indicator of our relationship with God.

The good news is, every child of God can or should and can be led by the spirit of God. Our senses and our reasoning are good and we should use them but they only enable us to relate to the physical and mental world around us. They cannot help us relate to the spiritual world in which God lives. Once we are saved, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us and can relate divine information to us through our own spirit.

How can we be led by the Holy Spirit?
To be led by the Holy Spirit, we must:
1. Believe that God will lead us and trust Him to do so.

2. Ask for His guidance often. It is a good practice to pray for his guidance each morning.

3. Pause before making important decisions and ask Him to show you what to do and listen in your heart for His direction.

Conclusion: We get better at discerning His direction the more we actively seek it.

Do you need the presence of the Holy spirit in your life? Yes you too can be led by Him. First you need to be born again.
John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Confess Jesus right now, say you believe Him, ask Him to come into your heart. Yes after that, Heavens rejoice over your soul and welcomes. Ask for his spirit to lead and guide you. God is with always.
