In a continuous bid to raise financially independent women in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel's #CompletionAgenda and the Dakkada initiative, Dakkada Women Entrepreneurship And Mentorship Programme (DWEMP) is training and mentoring rural women to become financially stable.

The training program which aims at raising enterprising women across the 31 local government areas of the state is currently ongoing in Mkpat Enin, where participants are being trained in Confectionery, Cosmetology, Soap making, Hair Styling, and Tailoring.

Information gathered from the Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mrs. Lydia Udoh, says the program is organized to equip rural women with the necessary skills to ensure their participation in the economic development of their various communities.

According to Mrs. Udoh, the trainees were selected across different wards in the Local Government and across party lines.

She disclosed that after the training program, Start-up packs will be distributed to participants and a follow-up unit commissioned to monitor and evaluate their progress as well as offer technical assistance.

A graduation certification ceremony for Mkpat Enin trainees will hold tomorrow, Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 10 am at the Local Government Council Hall, Mkpat Enin Urban.
