Good day everyone, please am confused on which decision to take,am age 33 and got a federal job of 111k per month,am afraid that this money can't be enough if I start having family,so am thinking of looking for a greener pasture in Dubai which my friend over there ask me to come and look for work, that we can save and move to another country,am just confused now now what decision to take, please help..

Don't listen to your friend! Take the FG job, save aggressively. Find a wife, but do jot marry her just yet or even if you decide to get married, you should delay procreating. Your target is to relocate to Canada before you turn 36. Hopefully, if your fiancé is earning, that can fast track the process. Congrats!

My brother don't leave your job o.....I have been in Dubai for 2yrs with nothing to show for it o... I even left Nigeria as a banker sef o.

Chai oga banker, if you were core staff, you made a mistake unless you were on contract.

People too hype traveling abroad. I would rather remain a banker and complain about the strenuous work than travel to a country where I will do same strenuous work with very little savings. Core staff dey enjoy.

From ur question, u already have a food for thought which is 'my friend over there ask me to come and look for work'
This should tell u there's no available job that awaits u there, it's just like u burning #500 with the hope of getting a $1.
There's money in this country man, all u need is just an opportunity even as faint as a candle light (that u've gotten) & if u're wise enuf to harness that faint light, u'll have a light as bright as the sun in Burkina Faso.

Don't listen to your friend... Take your annual leave or vacation, and travel a month to Dubai so as to see that the grass isn't really greener

.
Take this advice OP. You are even better than majority of the people in Dubai and may be even your friend that is advising you of coming over.

If you are not a doctor, Nurse, pharmacist or an experienced oil field engineer. Dont step foot into Dubai, even if u dont have a job in Nigeria.

Dont let any body deceive you.

my colleague just gave a guy money to return to Nigeria after more than one yr he left his govt job in Nigeria to work in Dubai. His case is even better he came with work visa, Taxi driver. yet the suffering does not worth the income.

. At times we create problems for ourselves by our lack of appreciation. You receive 111 k monthly when thousands envy you and your salary because they receive 10 monthly in ischools where they teach. Tell your friend to leave you alone.Dubai is not a paradise as many Nigerians are labouring there and coming back home after years of needless sojourn. If you insist on going to Dubai you can do so when you are on leave.Dont take any step you will regret in your life After some time you can still relocate to USA for a better life with required papers.Additionally limit your family zise .With that you can still do something in life with your federal government job.

I really don't know but one thing for sure is that destiny and grace is different..

Same Dubai, Nigerians there have been able to stay there, hustle hard, save and make up things, sent money home, built houses and completed their shops. I know of a few Workin as Security operatives over there..

My friend recently got there this Feburary, after the Covid 19 travel ban, after 1 to 2 months delay in securing a job basically the first company he went to be realized those guys are scammer as u work and at the end of the month you don't get paid. This led to incuring additional unforseen expenses paying up agents etc.

God led him to a place after completing his SIRA and according to him he earns 242k monthly, stays in the dormitory accomodation (of 8 staffs) provided for by the company for staffs and feeds 2 to 3 square meals from where he works. According to him that has been his saving grace.

Dude went there with a target and stepping stone to go elsewhere greener in few years.

He is seriously saving up

I feel with determination and financial discipline and following your instinct you can still make it there.

Note there are still Nigerians in the USA, Canada, Europe and even South Africa with nothing absolutely to show for despite their many years of staying there..

So also we have Nigerians here back home with 100k and above salary and having nothing absolutely to show for after several years

Everyone is different..

Go along wit your Believe and be ready to work hard and go for what took u there
