At the end they got what they wanted which was ILORIN, and nothing else matters... every other yarns na story for the gods.

You have a biased mind. At this time, they already had Ilorin. They wanted to penetrate the SW but they were defeated. So, they didn't get what they wanted.

What's worse than being ignorant is living in denial and self induced delusion!!

Adam al-Ilory was born in the province ofJugu, the headquarter of Barba tribe in the city of Wasa, northern region of the republic of Benin, to a Beninese mother and a Nigerian father of Yoruba ethnicity

I wonder why yorubas would allow a non Yoruba tell them their history, they must be even more lost than I thought

Shit and piss history dug out from Wikipedia...

abdul baqi a fulani Islamic scholar was Adam al-Ilory's father who migrated from the north to yorubaland.....and yes you're absolutely ignorant, lost and deluded.

They are even more enslaved than I thought!

the Yoruba's were roundly defeated , that accounts for why 80percent of Yoruba's were converted to Islam, keep deceiving yourselves with fake history.

Kiddo, stop exhibiting your ignorance for everyone to see. This is what we see when ninnies like you dabble into subject matter that's far beyond their pedigree , There had been Islam in Yorubalamd before the arrival of even Usman Dan Fodio in northern Nigeria.

Oyo was an important trading destination for the Malian traders and other Arabs from the Sahel and beyond. These people, especially the Malian traders influenced the acceptance of Islam among their Yoruba trading partners. This was why Islam was often referred to as "Esin Monle" that is,religion of the Malians by most Yoruba of ancient time. Go and watch the video of what the Alaafin of Oyo said about the Islam in Yorubaland.

Even Alimi, the caliphate spy met a sizable number of Muslims in Ilorin when he arrived there. All these materials are readily available for anyone who is not intellectually lazy like you to read and be well informed .

It is part of the inherent imbalances in Nigeria that made the federal government to fraudulently position Sultan of Soloto as the "supreme leader of all Muslims " in the country. As a matter of fact,Yoruba Muslims are not under the authority of any Sultan of Sokoto, they have no business with him ! If the sultan announced the commencement of Ramadan and we had not sighted moon in our part of the country,we would never start fasting simply because Mr Sultan had said so !

If the Yoruba were roundly defeated as you claimed and would have loved, how come we have Obas instead of Emirs in all the towns that surround Ilorin and beyond ? Even the closest town to Ilorin,Ganmo has a Yoruba Oba as the ruler. Do you even know that the ruler of Jebba,a town that's far from Ilorin,it's almost located in Niger state, has a Yoruba Oba has its paramount ruler ?

Take it or leave, Fulani do not have what it takes to defeat Yoruba in any kind of battle or war. We are not in the same league - intelligence for intelligence, tactics for tactics, charms for charms, war experience for war experience, armaments for armaments ,etc.

How could the Fulani ever dream of defeating a tribe (Yoruba) that fought series of wars more than any other tribes in Africa ? We were never defeated by any indigenous tribal army; never ! !Ibadan war Generals of the Oyo (Yoruba) army would have easily taken back Ilorin from the Alimis if they had been authorized to do so by the Alaafin of Oyo. This was because the Fulani suffered heavy defeats and humiliations in the battle of Osogbo 1840. A particular Author said in his book said that "the Fulani armies were crushed in the battle" .The surviving Fulani soldiers escaped to Ilorin and there was pandimonium in the city because the inhabitants feared that Oyo army was ready to take it back.
Ilorin was not taken because Alaafin, who was the commander in chief of the Oto army had vowed to punish Afonja for his treacherous activities and rebellions.

You can equally read about the ancient Oyo army and how its organization and efficiency was described by the colonialists in their various memos. No other indigenous ancient African army was so described !

Fulani can never defeat Yoruba in any kind of war. The fact is,we have what it takes to delete them permanently from the surface of the earth .

No wonder the present government banned history from secondary schools. This action is a great disservice to Nigeria itself.

The Fulani cowards did not fight to get Ilorin, they just killed Afonja who invited them and did not know that they were/are backstabbers and untrustworthy. The Fulanis made Abdul Salam the first Emir and linked him with the Sokoto emirate.

They were later defeated again by Ibadan but the Whites came to the rescue of the Fulanis by telling Ibadans to leave the Emir.
Even if Yorubas wake up from sleep, they will always be triumphant. It is a blessing from the Almighty.Ask battalions of Biafrans at Ore.

The ruler of Ilorin when the British arrived was a Yoruba man Called balogun alanamu.

The last Emir Momoh had been defeated by the Yoruba Chiefs and had burnt himself alive inside his Palace

Ilorin has Fulani Presence only because the British reimposed the defeated Emir on Ilorin around 1897

Before that balogun Yoruba (Inakoju alanamu) was the actual ruler of Ilorin.

The Emir had been deposed by the Ilorin Yoruba Chiefs before the British arrived.

balogun alanamu fought the British and was exiled to Jebba after the British defeated him.

It was the British that reinstaled an Emir in Ilorin after the defeat of balogun Yoruba Inakoju alanamu due to Political Pressure from Northern Emirs .

The Emir of Ilorin had been defeated and deposed by the Ilorin Yoruba Chiefs before the British arrived.

The British left at Independence after an agreement was made to have a referendum Kwara State.

The Post independence Government of Balewa and Azikiwe frustrated that referendum by not carrying out the Kwara referendum which should have happened at the same time as the Midwest referendum in order to cripple Awolowo and his Party Politically after Awolowo had been jailed in 1962

Balewa and Azikiwe also didn't Carry out the other referendums agreed with the British before independence meant for the Eastern and Northern Minority Ethnic groups.

Ilorin still has an Emir because of Colonial and Tribal Politics
