The arguement here is not if Ironsi
was a democratic ruler, he was not. The question here is if Ironsi was the person who destroyed the Regional system of government used to have? Of course he didnt.

Ironsi inherited 4 Regions that had resouce control and fiscal federalism, which really what makes the Regions nature. By the time Ironsi was killed, the 4 Regions were still there and still had resource control

Gowon then inherited 4 Regions that had resouce control from Ironsi. Gowon then then abolished the 4 Regions , created 12 states, took away resource control and abolished fiscal federalism

It is clear to a layman that the person who destroyed Regionalism was Gowon
