Nigeria is not India, the mistake Nigerians always make is trying to implement what has worked in other country in Nigeria.

Lets learn from China.

IT is good, but the above I have listed is beta in an economy like Nigeria.

IT employs less people, dont forget.

I am not a pessimist. Never, but I always try to think deeper.

IT industry needs very few people.

Manufacturing is the way to go.

I prefer robotics than the IT of a thing for Nigerians.

FG should teach youths how to build roborts for automation of various production proccess.

Nigeria is not India,

Nigeria is not America

Nigeria is not Europe.

But next minute you will be talking of saner climes and why Nigeria is lagging behind the world

FG should teach robotics Isn't robotics IT

Your hypocrisy smell like rotten egg

How will interested persons apply?
There is nothing to apply for. This is just another one of those meaningless "FG to partner with" announcements Nigerian governments like to make to pretend they're doing something meaningful, right behind "FG announces MOU with" ...

A government that was serious about IT wouldn't be wasting time on such announcements, it would be putting its energies into fixing the real roadblocks technology firms face in Nigeria, namely

1. The lack of access to rock-steady, reliable electrical power.
2. An opaque exchange-rate regime that scares away foreign investors while encouraging speculators through "round tripping".
3. Not even the slightest effort at extending fibre-optic cables nationwide to support broadband.

Until these things happen, all of the "partnering" announcements in the world won't make the slightest difference, other than to bamboozle the gullible with an illusion of progress. Nigeria has never lacked for IT talent, the problem is that most of them have to go abroad to make good use of their skills.

Den no be exactly dsame.

IT will emloy very few people, think am and get back to me.

The IT industry has changed. Most people shouting IT,IT are outside the IT industry.

One man and his small team can programe facebook and manage it.

You dont need a programer before you can create an ecom store, website, etc.

The world is moving to less demand for IT guys, due to the lots of template materials avialable in the IT sector.

To own a site like Naira lang for eg, you dont have to code anything, just install, thats what IT is like now.

IT is a fantastic industry, but it requires less labour. So its mot the best for Naija.

IT is good, but for an under developed nation like Nigeria it will create less impact.

The following traing for youths will pay off betta

Fabrication of various material is they way to go.

Manufacturing is the way to go.

Production is the way to go.

Innovation is the way to go.

Character and brain dev is they way to go.

IT is good, but................

Young Nigerians are innovating, dominating IT in Nigeria, raising more TECH funding than any other country in Africa, more than SA, more than Kenya and creating countless jobs, but you still think IT is not making any impact in Nigeria.

Our young boys from paystack built a great fintech company that they sold for $200 million, flutterware raised more funds on one month than what Ghana and many African countries combined raised in one year, Nigerian is the largest online market and we have 3 out of the 4 online market and shopping platforms in Africa.

Nigeria remains the main IT funding and destination in Africa

Manufacturing is great, but the topic is IT and innovation, not manufacturing, there's a difference between the two

When Twitter announced that they are opening empty office in Ghana, low self worth, self esteem and inferiority complex Nigerians celebrated for Ghana, they insulted and trashed their own country, but Microsoft that is 10 times more powerful and richer than Twitter is in Nigeria with serious IT presence and now it's investing more in IT to train Nigerians and create thousands of IT skills and jobs.

You people hate Nigeria so much that you look for any opportunity to discredit Nigeria and negate her achievements while celebrating mediocre and insignificant news in other countries.

Sad

My argument is very straight foward. The IT industry cant employ many people in Nigeria.

I am talking from the employment angle.

The IT industry in the future will be needing very few people.

To create any programs or website in the future, you dont have to code anything. We are heading in that direction.

I know what I am talking about.

Most of the people surporting this move by FG know nothing about IT like FG.
