Please to whom it may concern, anyone who is thinking of committing a crime in Nigeria should read this.

Most of us don't know what it's like to commit a crime, it is really that bad, worse than you think especially if you are caught at first, but after your first rodeo, it begins to look not that bad. Most criminals becomes hardened, I think that's the worst adjective; they become smarter.

Let's highlight the top crimes here in Nigeria. Major crimes in Nigeria include rape, kidnapping, murder, burglary, fraud, terrorism, robbery, cyber-crimes, bribery and corruption, money laundering and so on.

Rape
This particular one has been trending, victims of rape are now speaking up breaking the barrier of social stigma.
What is rape.
Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without that person's consent. It involves forceful coercion, abuse of authority, or below the legal age of consent.
In Statutory rape, even if both parties agrees to it, it is still considered rape, because one must be qualified legally to give consent. The legal age for consent in Nigeria is 18+. Some countries are 16, even some states in U.S.A legal age is 17.
Incase you are thinking of committing rape is life imprisonment. This means no sex for you till you die, unless you are the guy that believe "when life gives you lemon make lemonade" that's also illegal making lemonade with your fellow inmate.


kidnapping
This as become a profitable venture now in Nigeria. Unlike rape, the driving force for this is greed. Though people still kidnap others for the purpose of rape, anyone thinking of doing this stupid act will definitely add murder to his/her case. So women be careful.
Kidnapping by ransom seems to be the worst, why? This is because this crime is organized. When we have organized crimes, it is more of a challenge to fight or get justice. A weak Country will always go for amnesty for kidnappers which is counterintuitive, you fund them, to make them bigger.
So our brothers and sisters that are thinking of changing profession, the jail term is 10 years for those evil kidnappers that are still human (those that didn't kill, or inflict their victim with pain) and to the kidnappers that kills it is life imprisonment. Think twice.

Murder
One thing most people don't know about murder is this. We have 3 kinds.
1st degree murder- premeditated and willful murder with malice aforethought Jail term life imprisonment or death
2nd degree murder- not premeditated but willful with malice aforethought. A jail term but not life imprisonment.
3rd degree- unlawful killing without any intention to effect death. Just make sure you have a strong case but you good.

Boko Haram, rogue Fulani heardsman, Bandits e.t.c. are what we are facing today. Most terrorist group have a reason to raise terror. If their needs are not met they continue their Terrorism.
So far thousands have lost their life due to Terrorism. The most organized crime in Nigeria.
Nigeria so far had provided amnesty to "repented terrorists". One thing about Islamic terrorism is that they take years to brainwash or indoctrinate people to pick up arms and die for the course.
